Moderation in /vg/ has always been horrible or just terrible. I personally don't browse /ink/ but this shit happens on every single general in /vg/ and nothing is done about it.
Shitposters and spammers are given free reign like they're kings of /vg/. And whats worse, sometimes these idiots can spam reports to get other real posters banned/deleted and the mods just delete those posts or ban the innocent posters because they never read the reports or because they are buddies with the shitposters themselves. A couple of dedicated retards can easily kill a general in /vg/ by pretending they're the new kings of the general , mass reporting posts they don't like, forcing their shit down everyone's throat or just shitting the place up because they felt like it and there's nothing we can do about it because the lack of moderation in /vg/ really kills it.
If you report them then nothing will happen and if you try to tell them to fuck off then you'll get your posts deleted and banned/warned for "Low quality posts" while their horrible shitposts stay up. There's just nothing that can be done other than wait for him to get tired and move to a different general.

Can confirm, to an extent. The janitors don't seem to know what is actually on- or off-topic. Especially for games that have crossover material, you can get a bannu for posting images from the offical anime/comic/cartoon/whatever because it doesn't look like video games. This is even more true for eastern games, for which /vg/ is specifically intended to handle VN discussion.
There's an argument that if the Devil May Cry anime is being discussed, it should be done so on /a/, or if the tabletop version of MechWarrior is being discussed, it should be done so on /tg/, but that's not a good solution because it's just saying to make a thread somewhere that discussion either won't happen, or will require the posters discussing it to move between boards to do so, which is ridiculous in the context of cross-medium lore disputes.

It still happens in some threads, if some guy mass reports some posts then they'll all get deleted and maybe warned/banned because mods don't take their time to read the reports or see if the post is really breaking site rules. That or the shitposters are friends with the mods/janitors and get a free pass to do whatever they want. I want to believe its the first one and believe there's still hope for that board.
