What's your point Hillary?
>>

>>73882668
It's a subjective thing. What defines a "good job"? Trump is being ambiguous, as always.
>>
For women it's offensive, because women never take statements at face value. They always think someone means something else, because that's how they communicate

So here, the women think Trump is implying that women are currently doing a shit job, which might be true, but of course it's a very blanket statement that needs facts to back it up.

Truth is, Trump was responding to someone that asked about the pay they'd get if they worked for his company to which he responded with "yeah if you do a good job, you'll get a good pay", there's nothing behind the statement at all.

Ah fuck it, why even bother going in depth.
Can't stump the Trump and all that
>>
>>73882623
what the fuck?
how can you possibly disagree with that?
dumb bitch
>>
>>73882623
>You're gonna make the same if you do as good a job
That's actually not true. Employers often leave it up to their employees to ask for more pay instead of just giving it to the people who deserve it. And men are more likely to ask for it.

If women want equal pay, then LITERALLY all they have to do is ask. Not whine and moan to Obama and Bernie, who have both cited the absolute bullshit 77 cents misinformation. Just fucking ask (or tell) their employer.

There are no reasonable solutions the government can give us. They'd have to ban asking for raises, or demand that every time a man gets a raise, a woman gets an equal raise regardless of whether she deserves it or not and vice versa.

This is triggering to shilllary. From her perspective, women have always been discriminated against. Women have always been denied equal pay. This is a fact she's going in with.

Trump says "you will make equal if you do as good a job"

To shillary, that's basically saying trump believes women aren't doing good work and won't get equal pay until they do.

She's taken aback

She's intelligent. She knows the left are too dumb to do the 3 minute google search it takes to disprove the "wage gap", so she'll use it to appeal to emotion and garner votes.
>>
>>73883076
You've got that the other way around. A woman is less likely to ask for shit she DID earn than a man is to ask for shit he earned. More men get raises or higher starting pay (by virtue of just manning up and asking for it) and, as a result of this, men make slightly more on average than women in the same line of work.

The fact is that most women do not find it offensive either, and she doesnt need to pander to women because they're allready overwhelmingly in favour of socialism.

The whole "women card" feminism bullshit is actualy a really fucking retarded play from the left because they allready lead women votes by 2:1 even before it, and all it does is alienate men.

The left would actually had been better off politicly without third way feminism, preaching its universal diversity gospel straight up instead of involving feminism into the mix.

I would disagree with Trump's statement. Much of pay depends on things that don't have to do with doing a good job. I also believe that if you focus too much on doing a good job, then you aren't spending enough time trying to get paid for doing nothing.

However, thisdoesn't have to do with your gender.

I think the gender paygap is down mostly to different genders valuing different aspects of their lives differently.

More women value their homelife more than their jobs. Sure some are the opposite, but in general women are more likely to value their family over their work.

It makes sense that women, being sure all their children are their own, and having intrinsic value ( to their spouses ) would not feel so driven to acquire value as earners.

Sure, maybe this tendency ruins the name of women as potential workers, and influences the way opportunities are allocated, but if it is not due to a valid reason, woman will be able to overcome the perception as a group on their own.

And it's not even just money, some women got upset they were stuck being teachers' assistants when the men went on to be teachers, and blamed it on the patriarchy. It turned out the whole time it was because the men were asking for those jobs and the women generally weren't

Kekkers.

Women in a corporate setting are actually not very confident, it's harder to manipulate people individually and you have to be able to prove what you are saying.

You have no way of forcing the other persons hand with emotional arguments or threats.
>>
>>73884103

It's me again, I kept reading, because fuck you, bullshit poster.

From the studies...

We find that men are more prone than women to initiate a negotiation, which is in line with
our first hypothesis. However, the gender difference in the study by Small et al. (2007) is
three times as large as in our study. We speculate that this may be due to differences in culture
and gender norms between Sweden and the United States. Also, in contradiction to our second
hypothesis and the results of Bowles, Babcock, and Lai (2007), we find that the gender
difference in the propensity to initiate a negotiation is statistically significant when the
negotiation counterpart is a female, but not when the negotiation counterpart is a male. The
fact that our results differ from those of Bowles, Babcock, and Lai (2007) might be due to
differences in experimental design. We conclude that more research is needed regarding
situational factors influencing how the gender composition of the negotiation dyad affects
gender differences in initiation of negotiation

So women in the workplace are less confident? Maybe that is what all these feminists should look at, to be honest. Workplaces tend to be more macho and man dominated, so this makes sense. Feminists will argue, then, that women 'feel oppressed' in the workplace or some shit.

But I agree with Trump on this one. In fact what he said was basically the definition of equality, and Hillary doesn't apparently like it.
>>
>>73884103
Then how about a study from the US Department of Labor?

It debunks the 77 cents bullshit after accounting for shit like majors, grades, hours worked, age, region etc.
But it doesn't entirely debunk the wage gap. It just cuts it down from 23% to around 6%.

Trump’s implying men do better work than women, which could be an average overall work statistic from his companies. If the men of Trump’s organisations are actively setting the bar for what constitutes good work, then women should at the very least aspire to that level of expectation. But if they don’t then they should be paid less.

I can’t imagine Trump employs any waste in his workplace. I reckon the men and women of Trump’s organisation work equally as hard and get paid equally as much–with exception to those who negotiated their salaries. I think Trump was blindly retorting to the ‘MUH 72CENTS’ meme with something more impactful and neutral.

statistically it is true. That's why women in the US earn 79% of men. Because women work less hours, work easier jobs, etc. They get paid less for doing less work. The pay is based on how good of a job you do. This is irrespective of gender. A shit job = shit pay, a good job = the negotiated pay, an excellent job = pay rise.

I'm starting to believe the women in Hillary's camp want to get paid more (than men) for doing less (than men). That business model will cripple industry.

>or maybe we could try and stop the essentialist mindset from dominating discourse and start viewing people as simply people?
Sure. And to do that you have to dump all of this identity politics garbage that seeks to fix "problems" that you can't actually fix because they're just aggregate outputs of how different we all are. There's nothing that actually needs fixing in relation to differences because there's no overbearing entity that's producing or enforcing these outcomes.

It's just the result of our individual actions leading to a collective whole.

This may seem defeatist in how I'm presenting it, but that's exactly what is taking place on topics such as "The Gender Wage Gap".

Populism is just a buzzword. Appealing to the will of the people is the whole point of a Republic since your representatives are SUPPOSED to be REPRESENTATIVE of those that elected them.

It's a linguistic boogeyman that gets associated with certain negative things without recognition that it's a rather innocuous term.

Its meaning and context of that meaning depends entirely upon what it is that appeals to the public in question.

Yeah. It's not even Trump being le ebin troll or pandering to (often justified I'm coming to understand) Misogynistic statements, he simply gave the cross section between a Trump statement and a politician's statement, i.e something both blunt and non-committal.

"You're gonna make the same if you do as good a job" implies that the default is that women don't do as good of a job and thus make less rightly so.

He's digging himself into a deeper grave with women, and this problem will sort itself out come election day.
>>
I dunno about in other industries but in finance this is definitely true. You think the industry gives a fuck about what you have between your legs? They care about what return you can generate.

Say what you like about bankers bonuses omg they're killing poor people or some shit but you can't say they don't work in the most meritocratic industry.

>It's pandering to the voters with shallow or misleading policy promises.
That's not what the term populism means. That's the meaning you have assigned to it.
So again, you're just reinforcing that what you think "Populism" is gets tainted by what you consider the will of the public to be and how anyone attempts to appeal to that will.

Populism is only "bad" if the will of the people is "bad".

>There's usually nothing of substance to their campaigns and speeches besides what they think the average joe voter wants to hear.

Also not populism, but your stereotypical politician.

>They never make good leaders but occasionally make good candidates.

Good luck providing an example. Every candidate ever elected by majority vote is essentially a "populist" in that they appealed to the common man.

This group includes: Theodore Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Jimmy Carter, Abraham Lincoln, and Andrew Jackson.

My point was that the differences are going to lead to different outcomes. There's a disconnect between what people who champion equality claim to want and the practicalities of ever being able to achieve it.

Women are less likely to prove that they deserve a raise. When they do ask, there argument is always based on their personal wants and needs (i.e. need more to pay for kids college)

Men are more likely to bring in evidence, such as what competitors are paying, projects they have completed above and beyond their job description, examples of how they have saved or made money for the company.

It is more difficult for the boss to reject a raise of say $10,000 when you can prove you made the company an extra $100,000.

This is what I always say. If a company could reduce payroll 23% by just hiring women instead, 100% of them would do it. Men unemployment would be 40%.

It doesn't happen though, so it's obviously not true. There are ZERO companies that WILLINGLY pay more for a man, if they was ANY CHANCE at them paying a woman less for the exact same outcome. Zero.

Yes, actually they have been trying to say that and it is a sizable misconception of objective truth that exists within our collective culture.
>the problem is that women are rused into lower paying positions socially, or denied good positions
Nobody is rusing women into low paying jobs socially, they chose those jobs, in all the sense that people can be rational actors and have free will in our society.
Women are absolutely NOT denied good positions. In fact they are highly sought after.

The 'wage gap concept' is objectively wrong and a harmful misconception in the public mind no matter how you look at it.
