The voting age should not be limited to any age - it should be limited by a balancing of rights and responsibilities.
Exerting political authority over the state is the ultimate in force that a man may wield - yet it is not required to be earned by any semblance of responsibility. You can be as reckless as you wish with your vote, you can vote yourself the impossible and no one may stop you. That is a system doomed to failure.
If you wish to authority over the state you should have to wager your life - and lose it, if necessary - against it. A term of service, both arduous and dangerous, would yield an electorate of significantly higher performance than any in an "unlimited" democracy - which is a fictitious invention as we exclude vast quantities of people from the vote based on age, mental faculty or criminality.

The army is overrated and maknig it the basis to vote on does not represent the best interest of the people. Everyone in it is already broken in and is an order-following machine.
