Its actually the projection off the weekend. Considering that this is like 60-75% off money made on a movie (first weekend and week) the estimate is grim. It costed a ton to make the movie.

That's not even close to true.
A 17+ million opening might get them 40mil over the weekend if they're lucky, and with reviews being overall middling, it's not going to get the huge rush from word-of-mouth over the weekend like movies such as deadpool did.
Conservative estimates are putting it at 30 mil, and about 33 mil or so is what it'll sit at after the weekend's over with SLoP beating it out and mediocre reviews and feminists not actually paying for things that are targeted towards them.
If the movie was only on a 144 mil budget, they might make even break even in a few years with merchandise sales and selling the rights to Ghostbusters. But it cost 250 mil with production and advertising, so it's pretty much going to flop hard - it essentially already has.

Amy Pascal killed Ghostbusters 3, an almost guaranteed block buster that was to be directed by the Russo brothers and star Chris Pratt for this film no one wanted.
Pascal/Sony were so in love with the concept of an all female Ghostbusters that they ignored the market realities that female comedy and action/scifi blockbusters are VERY different audiences who want VERY different things out of movies.
If anything Sony is happy you guys bashed this movie for months on end giving it tons of free publicity and making it some kind of social justice crusade to enjoy this piece of corporate product. Your efforts helped this thing earn at least $3-6 million more than it should have. Good work!
