Mexico has a border with the US. Bombing them to hell and then doing nothing to rebuild it will trigger outrage from the population. Even if a wall is built. things would probably go to shit really quickly for the US. They'd be forced to either shoot unarmed civilians or let them into the country, and any of these things would have HUGE repercussions. Rebuilding Mexico would be the best option in this situation and would help make the US seem like the good guys, while the mexican leaders who started it would end up being hated
