Assad is literally a god send. The leaders of ISIS are just mercenaries who get paid and armed by the West as well as Israel, turkey, and saudi arabia. They use fear tactics and propaganda to recruit muslim men but even so - islamic terrorism wouldn't even be that big of a problem if there weren't governments purposefully fueling this fire. ISIS is the bogeyman of America, where citizens will willingly give up their rights in the name of "counter-terrorism". Assad and Putin will rise from the ashes - victorious.

The only way Assad can win this war is through a no-entry policy in order to stop ISIS fighters to get in and out of Syria, then he would need a huge direct confrontation with all ISIS fronts in order to kill as much ISIS fighters as he can. SAA casualties would be compensated by Hezbollah shock troops and Iranian guard troops, ISIS would luck fighters through the no-entry policy and would quickly be defeated.
