We saw exactly what happened when Mig 29 engaged F-16 and F-15 in Serbia. They're were fucked. Not because it's a bad airframe or aircraft. But because South Korea aka American up to date Radar and Missile technology makes the very obsolete.
And as we know as far back as the 1970 wars are won in the air. If you have air superiority you can cut of supply lines and the war other side eventually loses.

South Korean tanks are mostly K1 K1A1 and K2 Black Panthers. There are cutting edge tanks comparable to Abrams, Leopards 2, Challangers 2, T-90, T-95
Menwhile the bulk of the North Korea Tank force is T-55 Chinese Copy T-55 and T-62
There are horribly outdated and got absolutely leveled in Iraq in both wars.
Organized Abrams and Challengers 2 lines simply out ranged these tanks by a factor of 2 and had Night Vision so they could fight day and night. Most of the first Iraq war tank casualties were actually night kills.
South Korea would win the war no questions asked if no one intervened. Problem is they'd lose half of Seoul in the process and it would set their economy back 20 years and some 15 more if the actually decided to Unify Korea after they conquered the North.

Nobody in South thats young cares about the North, there no connecting lines anymore. Sure they speak a weird korean accent in the North but the cultures have evolved so much in another direction and the North is so firmly entrenched in it's views that I don't think even if the current North Korean government fell and was replaced with a Democratic one. They wouldn't unite.
