I actually do work under a candidate that is currently representing a constituency.

However a site that allows racist views to be tolerated in discussion, can be problematic.
/pol/ is what is known as a pressure valve. Political discourse acts as a snow plow, pushing all outside the rhetoric to one side.
If views deemed to be unacceptable are not allowed to be voiced, then violence it results in violence.
Allowing discussion however aggressive it may seem, acts as a release. Hence the term pressure valve.
