Second of all methadone/suboxone is the stupidest fucking way to get off heroin.
Just go cold turkey. It's literally the only way to get off the stuff. Methdone withdrawals can last up to a month. You're just trading one addiction for another, and Methadone is even harder to get off of.

I was a heroin addict for 5 years, and would shoot up to 2 grams a day. A two gram a day habit, and I was fine after 5 days of cold turkey, and felt completely normal by day 7.

I know several heroin addicts on methadone and all of them use heroin in addition to methadone, the reason being because the methadone withdrawal is worse than the heroin for them.

the od rate in countries that give addicts free heroin is BASICALLY ZERO. Because you can go to a clinic and get a shot on the premises with health professionals there in case, most addicts in these countries are in safe circumstances..
In my opinion, methadone is pretty great.. yeah you dont get high but you feel comfortable day in day out,, and comfortably everyday is fucking awesome after years of highs and lows...

my opinion is to stay away from opiates and just smoke weed, but if you do get addicted heavily to opiates, methadone is a far superior option to trying to get clean.
there was a washington post article a couple months ago that clocked the death rate of abstaining addicts (addicts who got off of opiates) at 3 TIMES the deathrate of people on methadone...
