I'm saying people are swayed by emotional trauma, such as being deported or put into labor camps for your religion, which can distort memories and limit perspectives, especially for children who know about as much as the rumors they heard.
There are plenty of stories that don't fit the narrative, either creating ludicrous events, or stating that there were no systematic killing in their camps, but there were, instead, medical and entertainment centers.

Not all of them were sent to death camps, some of them were just sent into labor camps, and obviously labor camps had their own problems e.g. typhus and starvation

That's true. Still, there's evidence that shows that some people were murdered or disappeared. Hundreds of thousands at least. And while emotional trauma can and does distort evidence, the eyewitnesses presented relatively homogeneous testimonies

Because of the backlash that would occur if such atrocities were to get out, and the fact that camps were sources of labor.
I'm not saying they didn't hate Jews, or that they weren't persecuted. Systematic killing, that is the intentional and direct murder of Jews by execution or collective gassing, was not apart of the administrations plan and was not sought out.
It was not their intention to lose the war.
