Worst anyone ever did on my boats was cut or stab themselves a bit. Anyone can do it, it's really not that hard. He told me that it bothers him how aggressive some of the people trying to expose stolen valor are because vets in the 60's,70's and early 80's wore there badges and uniforms different than that are regulation today.
