This movie will ultimately be judged as 'meh' based on the money earned and those earnings won't be enough to justify a sequel. This will, however, continue to remain a lucrative franchise containing too much potential to 'shelve' and so it will get another shot with a new cast, director, narrative and overall 'feel' just like Nolan's Batman, Abram's Star Trek, and BSG. The true comedy is that the first Ghost Busters wasn't a comedy. It was an action flick made for younger boys with some adult jokes tossed in. It's like call Commando or Total Recall (featuring the Arnold) comedies because they had plenty of funny moments.
