How do I become a politician, /pol/? I'm moving from Michigan to Kentucky this year to start a new life. People in KY seems to be redpilled and aware of the crisis we're having in this country. I'd like to represent my community and shield it from the disease that is liberalism.

So where do i start, /pol/?

Start locally, unless you plan on becoming a entrepreneur/lawyer/doctor/prosecutor/etc then you want to start with something like city council. To be honest local elections have been the easiest for me to win, I've managed campaigns with me and 1 other person , the whole thing cost maybe 20 grand, and it was a mayors race for a town of a couple thousand.
>>
>>80459821
If you're going to run, start to get your name out in the community, do charity, be involved in city politics, find out what issues are important to people and fit those into your platform

Make a significant donation to the Clinton Foundation.

When you start you won't be fighting liberalism, you'll be dealing with things like roads, traffic stops, and maybe planning city events like parades, and dealing with ordinances, its really not that partisan at a city level. Just say your going to fix the problems and it won't cost the city or tax payers more money and its a good platform already. Depending on the size of your area, expect you and your staff (if you manage to aquire a staff) to make lots of calling, and I mean a lot. Also signs are great, if you are on a budget hit major areas on street corners or by schools where parents drop kids off. Get permission for these because its a bitch to have them stolen or taken down , especially on a budget.

This if you want to be elected to something more than judge in a pork princess pageant
>>

Also local events are a great place to get to know communities, people who participate in community events such as art festivals, food truck gatherings, anything city planned are people who vote on the city level and are active voices to their neighbors about city politics. Get your name out as much as possible. Half the time people vote for local officials just because they know their name, got a phone call, or saw a sign.
>>
>>80460213
But yeah, this actually. Even with shit tons of money, its hard to beat the establishment. I know, 3 million dollar congressional campaign, only got 20 percent of the vote. Feelsbadman

These are great, its really good to see quality answers than just "muh roads"

I will add that it might be best to keep the goal of eliminating liberalism out of the public until you are elected and/or until you are familiar with everyone.
Also, maybe and try and volunteer right away at government sponsored places.

This will get you pointed into the right direction when moving somewhere and not knowing anyone.

Not sure how to go about raising money for a campaign but I am sure there is a way.

These are great, thanks a lot for the advice guys.

Quick question though, how much of my own money am I expected to spend on campaigns at the local level?
>>
but yeah, getting your name out there and if you can associated with good ideas is the best way , be likeable and you can usually get away with shitty policies. though that doesn't fly with informed voters
>>
>>80460601
This is excellent. Thanks
>>
I am actually amazed to have never seen a thread in all my years on /pol/, about actually becoming or being a politician
We need more of these, hopefully some sorta paste bin gets made one day too with some helpful links for
>>
>>80460678
I've worked on campaigns where we spent anywhere from 2000 to 100k on the local level. the 2000 ones were when i was in college learning this shit. now i gotta get paid. Also go to the high school and community college and offer paid internships(pending) . Rope your interns in, make them nervous, make them try hard, make them feel special, but ultimately make them feel like they need you more than you need them. Then tell them you can't pay them but you'll give them a good recommendation and ez free labor.
>>
>>80460894
Well, what if I start as one of those interns? Will the recommendations actually help?
>>
>>80459821
As for raising money, you'll need rich friends , or a way into rich social circles. Once again this goes with getting involved in the community and meeting people, network constantly, and eventually if you're lucky and impress you'll find people more than willing to throw their money away for you to fix issues that are important to them. Sometimes they'll throw money just because they hate the guy your running against as well. Fundraising is like 90 percent of the work though at the start DESU. The rest of the campaign is pretty fun
>>
>>80460991
I mean you'll learn a lot, and make a lot of connections doing it. I totally recommend it. Not going to lie starting off as a straight politician is hard because people , especially rich people can tell when someone is looking for money. Like I said, there is a reason Doctors, lawyers, bidness men , etc can go into poltiics.
>>
that being said its not unheard of for someone to just out of the blue run and win something with signs and phone calls and maybe a good speech, but having money and support is going to carry you farther early on. Also Don't Trump on a local level. It doesn't work, I saw so many primary candidates try that this year and the incumbents BTFO'd them.
>>
>>80461067
>>80461145
If you don't me asking, what was your background? Did you come from a well-off family with connections?
>>
>>80460742
Me too. I was last here (apart from the past 2 or 3 months) in late 2014 (been on and off since 2011) and it was similar shit to now, Trump was replaced with Ron Paul, cucked and redpill and SJW was a lot more tame and subdued and less prevalent, but it was mostly the same shit with interracial porn.

But this is also the first time i"ve seen something that's not bait, and isn't about some sort of uprising or hatred of something.

no my family is lower middle class. I started working on campaigns in college when I joined College Republicans , got a polisci degree, and then one of the guys i worked for in college hired me to come work for him after school. I also helped friends who were running campaigns , so you learn a lot through that. Polisci degree was ok, I honestly learned more from experience , all the theory is great but kind of shit when you get into a real race. You learn more from the losses than the wins. I'm working as a contractor right now, just doing PR. Also don't expect to make much, I've gotten jobs where I was offered 25k, literally living at home and commuting an hour and a half, then I've had ones where they pay me 80k for 8 months, your going to need work in the off years to. But if you intend on actually being a politician, expect to always be campaigning for the next election. (Unless u get to senate or governor but, by then you'll know a lot more) .
>>
Oh fuck I remember now, save your lists, call lists are fucking vital to have. Fucking save them. you can usually get them from your local party though, assuming the GOP just register and get involved there, that is another great way to make connections.
>>
>>80461567
It seems pretty weird thinking about it, i have never imagined a /pol/ack as anything but some regular guys/NEETs who may or may not be nazis
Now they are mayors
>>
>>80462000
or FBI. and I'm not a mayor, I work as a campaign staffer type deal. Though right now im an unemployed neet going back to get a technical degree so I can do patent law.
>>
Don't go on /pol if you want to become a politician that's all I can say
>>
If only becoming a politician was easy like becoming a doctor or lawyer
>>
>>80461567
>>80462000
This place used to be a lot better, but I would be lying if I say that i don't enjoy coming here still. That being said, it's tough to get an actual discussion when most of the threads are filled with shills and trolls
>>80461693
>>80461905
Interesting. Again thanks a lot for everything anon
>>
>>80462092
Still, i never expected someone on /pol/ to actually do anything politically related other than scream about the happening and why the joos are evil
>>80462192
Probably good advice, but there is the odd poster on 4chan who actually helps people so im gonna lurk these types of threads
>>
>>80460742
Naah we need threads about how to shoot politicians, not how to join them

If you're going to do this you must realize that you're going to have to conceal your power level extremely, stop posting on 4chins, and make concessions or your career will die before it started, and it will also likely change your views from faking conservicuckism so hard.
>>
>>80459821
Get in contact with Republican political groups in the area. They certainly have a list of upcoming elections that you can choose from and work your way up from there.

Be sure to go door to door; supporters will be much more enthused about telling all their friends to vote for you after you've campaigned to them face to face, and their friends will feel the second-hand impression of a human connection.

Start cleansing your online footprint as best you can now before you're busy with politicking.

Learn to love Jesus, especially in Kentucky, in fact start going to church, and get involved with that community to.
>>
>>80462729
Good thing I have no social media present. Should I make a clean one? Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc?
>>
>>80462874
You can. They don't hurt, as long as you don't post anything retarded. Do a page on facebook where people can like, it but stay away from the personal kike book.

Kentucky anon, can confirm

Being Catholic would help you TREMENDOUSLY fit in with the community because even those that aren't Catholic still fit in with the Catholics.

Make sure you say you'll fix up the community. Heroin is a pretty big problem.
>>
If you have enough capital to pay a campaign planner, you just do that. Otherwise, you contact the state and local Republican Party. Attend events and speak out whenever you can. Once the party heads like you, the rest is just doing what the campaign organizers of the party tell you to do.

I used to work for a private campaign office that the RPOF referred candidates to.

1. You need money
2. Help the poor ones, then u can go from door to door (it´s going to take a while but start tomorrow)
3. Other candidates are going to track all your history so...
4. Participate, why? beacause people are going to say:
Oh really is he (the tall, smart, groomed, manly, catholic, helpful, etc) going to represent us? that´s nice i talked to him when he was building X things Of course i will vote for him
5. Yeah you have to go to partys (don´t drink too much you don´t need it)
6. Help the kids, respect them
7. Let them look at you while you clean your house or while you buy house stuff and stay away from dumb fights or any but don´t be a coward
