It was an app on Chrome called the Coincidence Detector. What it did was put (((echos))) around jewish names.
People started to realize all these "coincidences" that the never Trump guys were pretty much all jewish, long with open border people, and gun grabbers.

The concept of Kek as it is know is a fun memetic creation, but is one of the symptoms of the dumbing-down of /pol/. There used to be discussion here, but it has been replaced with reddit-tier memery. It's been a very long time since I've seen a Space Elevator thread. I tried to make once myself to revive the old /pol/ but only a few people posted on it and it died in obscurity.
TL;DR: Kek is an example of neo/pol/. It's a fun memetic creation, but shows how /pol/ has changed recently from discussion-oriented to meme-oriented. Keep in mind that this is my opinion and the old saying "X is not one person." The image I posted in the post you replied to applies here as well.
