Well from my experience with the EOD bot in both Battlefield 3 and 4 I can tell you that my best strategy is to toss a few smoke grenades into the room and then charge the opponent and open fire with the blowtorch. It helps if the guy is lying down and facing away from the robot, and it is also important to make sure that you're playing on Hardcore otherwise EOD bot kills are definitely very hard to do.
