Fuck off, Mohammad.
>>
>>80286439
Long guns you can buy in most states same day without a permit,

Handguns usually have a waiting period and a lot of states require a permit. Check Wikipedia for the different rules
>>
>>80286439
Depending on where you go, whether it's Wally World, a gun show, or a buddy down the road, all you'll usually have to do is get a background check to make sure you don't have a criminal history. There's a waiting period on certain weapons, but after that you're good to go.

This is how you buy a gun in PA.

>Go to store
>Browse selection
>Talk to dealer, pick gun, hold it check it out
>Give information to dealer
>Dealer goes in back for a bit and does checks
>Could be 5,10,20 minutes
>If you're record is clean you're good
>Pay for gun

As well as gun shows and being allowed to sell between citizens with legally registered firearms.
>>
>>80286770

why is there a difference between long and hand guns ?
>>
>>80286439
You need either a drivers license or state ID.
You need to fill out a form and pass an FBI background check.
If you pass you can walk out with your new gun.

A few shit states have some kind of arbitrary license and/or waiting period.

>he does not make his own firearm in order to not be put on the firearm list of enemy combatants during the civil war
>>
>>80286439

no

you can walk into a store and leave with a longrifle

handguns require a lot more work thogh
>>
>>80287132
Some states are retarded.

Same as banning "assault weapons" because they look scary even though they are functionally identical to grandpa's hunting rifle.
>>
>>80287132

vast majority of gun crime is committed with hand guns so they're more regulated because emotions and feelings
>>
>>80287394
The process is no different.

You must live in one of the few shit states and not realize you are in the minority.
>>
>>80286439
There's still a background check from every store that sells them.
>>
>>80287535

are you retarded? I live in Texas

The Brady Bill is a FEDERAL law you monkey

>FBI background check.

are the sellers calling the FBI or checking on the internet ?

>>80287122
>sell between citizens with legally registered firearms.

how is that regulated ? do you have to inform the state before the transaction ?
>>
>>80287708

no

You have to be a resident of the state where you're buying the gun
>>
>>80287673
There is no waiting period for handguns.

The process for buying a handgun, long gun, or shotgun are exactly the same.

You fill out the form, pass the background check, and walk out with your gun.

I live in Texas also and have bought many firearms.

or maybe you're just underage b&
>>
>>80287911
You have to fill out a federal form. The store then has to call the feds and they run a background check.

You can sell a gun to another state resident privately because per our constitution the federal government CANNOT regulate intrastate commerce.
>>
>>80287911
Phone call.
FBI checks their records, then gives them a proceed, hold, or deny answer.

Personal sales are not regulated. It would literally be impossible to regulate.
>>
>>80287132

because handguns are easier to conceal.
>>
>>80288138
You have never bought a handgun apparently.
Keep trying kid.

what types of crimes get you denied ?

do you have to be 100% clean ?
>>

There's actually a category for "non-resident alien," ie, visiting non-citizen.

Did you buy your gun at Tyrone and Juan's Gangbanger Darknet Emporium by chance?

Felonies, violent crimes, or adjudicated mentally ill will disqualify you.

Is one able to buy a gun in Cuckifornia?
What're the requirements?
>>
>>80288755
That is not in effect.

Only 10 states have a waiting period.

I have bought guns from many places, including large chain stores and police supply stores.
>>
>>80286439
Must buy it in the state of your valid ID.
Must pass FBI background check.
Often must wait 2 weeks to purchase firearm, unless you have a CCW license.
>>
>>80287122
These are pretty much the 'standard' firearms laws here in the USA, as you can see, all firearms purchased from a dealer go through a background check.

Most southern and midwestern states have near identical laws, the real exceptions are DC, MD, CA, MA, NJ. In those states you get to deal with 'assault weapon' bans, arbitrary permitting (Not rich/connected? Sorry, fuck you), and effectively piles of hoops to jump through, making it as awkward as possible for residents to acquire firearms.

A lot of people just think guns were made illegal and don't bother, which was the entire point of those laws.

>>80287132
Rifles are used for hunting and sports, and frankly are used in crimes rarely, even taking into account the recent insanity.

>>80287911
Some states require handguns to go through a federally licensed dealer, but in general it's like selling any other piece of property. A better question is how exactly would you regulate this?

If your first thought is 'registration', keep in mind that registration databases of guns and their owners are actually banned here in the USA, at the federal level at least.

You have to remember that the US constitution 'guarantees' rights, and does not grant them. If california is any indication there are plenty of people who are chomping at the bit to get registration databases so they can go door to door and confiscate guns at some point.

90% of the problem are the nignogs shooting up each other in the cities with cheap, inaccurate, badly maintained, stolen handguns.

>>80288635

Generally if you're convicted of a felony you lose your firearm rights permanently; however if you get your records expunged, you get them back. I actually think that the system needs cleaned up a bit here, a lot of people who just smoked a joint once or something and got a felony on their records probably shouldn't be prohibited from firearms ownership.

>>80289170

No

I literally bought my first gun from wal*mart just for shits and giggles

>walk in
>that one
>lemme check if we have it in stock
>ok
>fill out this form pls
>ok, hold on I'll call it in to the FBI
>ok
>here's your gun, but pls wait here until the manager comes so he can escort you out
>>

>d. are you a fugitive from justice

REALLY ?
>>
>>80286439
In Michigan you can buy a semi-automatic ar 15 from walmart as soon as you turn 18, background check takes 5 mins. Pistol you have to be 21, with same background check no permit or waiting period. If you are not 21 you can have a parent or guardian buy you one and gift it to you legally.
>>
>>80289240
Add IL to the list. We have a FOID system that required a license to buy any guns and ammo, private sale included.
>>
You have to fill out a form and they run a background check through a database to see if you've been convicted of a felony, which would preclude you from being able to buy a gun in a licensed gun shop. This is the bare minimum for all states.

Beyond this, some states have arbitrary waiting periods and some states have laws preventing ownership of types of firearms (there are federal laws and limits on certain types of firearms. For example, new full auto weapons cannot be sold and only those registered before 1986 can be purchased, but this must be done through stricter channels than simply buying a new semiauto rifle).

California and New York are subject to absurd regulations regarding semiauto rifles like the AR15.

Outside of buying from a licensed dealer, private sales do not require filling out a form or a background check. Some states forbid private sales.
>>
>>80289506
That is the same as the majority of states.
>>
>>80289357

> Weed: Yes at federal level, but likely will be legalized in <5 years.

> Shoplifting: Can be Felony or Misdemeanor depending on state.

> Harassment: Again, depends on your state, and the type of harassment.
>>
>>80287122
>between citizens
You don't need to be a US citizen to buy or sell gun
>>
>>80289357

depends on if you took the plea bargain or not
