First: It is far too early for any responsible institution to take sides in this. As many times as we have been lied to in early reports, people have learned.
Second: It is unlikely that the NRA is going to take sides with this and issue some sort of major statement. It isn't about the guys race, it is about their purpose. Some guy getting shot isn't something that they speak on every time it happens. Now, if this becomes used as a reason to take away guns then they will likely respond. But probably not until then.
