What is life like in Russia are there opportunities to make decent money and live a good life? Is Vladimir Putin a good leader or could it be better and if it isn't great is it improving? Does Vladimir Putin have the Russians best interests at heart? There is so many questions I wish to ask about Russia please tell me everything.

No worst than anywhere else desu.

Women are way less femminazied...

If you make $1000/month, you're golden. If you make more than that, you'll have a good quality of life.

It's good for nationalism, fighting the Jew World Order and Putin.

Otherwise it's a poor country with medium amounts of corruption due to organized crime

Give credit where its due. Sure Russia enherited some corruption from the USSR, but US "economic advisors" had a huge role to play.

How is Russia a poor country? Which other soccer team blows a quarter million dollars on an after party to celebrate their loss?

Russia is far from poor, its rather exceptionally stratified.

> Does Vladimir Putin have the Russians best interests at heart?

No. What Hugo Chavez was to socialists Putin is to many of the world's right-wingers. He's complete shit and ruining his county but people just want to believe.
>>
>>80073170
I guess I meant that there is a very wide wealth gap with very difficult means of socio economic mobility?

That means that most people enjoy a lower quality of life for more work compared to much of the spoiled USA.

>>80073076
You get the point. It doesn't have a globalist oligarchy that publicly assassinates people in the dozens like the US does, or at least we have more free media to report on the Clinton body count

We fight more corrupt and destructive wars than russia does for less justifiabl reasons too
>>
>>80073037

Consider costs of living.
>>
>>80074078
So if I brought a years worth of minimum wage earnings, i could live an upper middle class life style in russia?

At what point do they just kill you for your American shekels?
>>
>>80074477

Upper middle? No.

Many people in East Europe aren't renting and own their homes, so rent might eat into your cash. You can live just fine, on ~1000$ a month, if you keep it reasonable.
>>
>What is life like in Russia are there opportunities to make decent money and live a good life?
It is actually reasonably good. More so in Moscow/St. Petersburg, less so everywhere else. But if you've got head on shoulders, you can earn and earn well if you live in big cities.

Right now is not the best time for Russia though. It's not so much about the sanctions as it is about low oil prices. Canada is also going through the economic hardships because of this.

> Is Vladimir Putin a good leader or could it be better and if it isn't great is it improving?
He's pretty good. He might not be an absolute genius, but compared to Yeltsin, Russia today is heaven on Earth.

The standard of life has gone steadily up in Russia, especially compared to the '90s. In some ways, Russia is actually better than US: just 13% flat individual tax, free healthcare, free college, state-funded retirement plan; cheaper living standards in many cases, e.g. I pay 8$/month for 60mbps internet connection and I could even get more but I don't bother.

> Does Vladimir Putin have the Russians best interests at heart?
Certainly, especially compared to what we had with Yeltsin and Gorbachyov. Despite all the corruption, Putin has always been all about Russian interests and security. From removing corrupt bankers like Abramovich, Berezovsky, etc. to solving Chechnya and Crimea problems, he's done more to make Russia stronger than pretty much any politician in the last 30 years at least.

There is so many questions I wish to ask about Russia please tell me everything.

> Russian muslims meme
You fail to mention 2 things:

1) Those muslims were part of Russia from way before USSR because we conquered/assimilated them.

2) Muslims have no power in Russia at all. In Moscow subway they often stop anyone muslim-looking to check their documents. Whenever they make any racket, they face consequences. Even during rare neo-nazi/muslim conflicts, the state really doesn't go much against the former.
>>
>>80073037
Russia has free medical ensuring. And the most important thing is that in Russia everyone calls wage amount of money they reciewe. Taxes are already been paid by employer.

>>
>>80071806
Its a shithole apart from the big cities. And the big cities have a high cost of living, no less than Europe.

Russia is an oil-based economy, facing a severe recession with little chance for recovery, as oil prices stay low. It has horrifying levels of corruption and 20 years less life expectancy than in Europe.

Putin may appeal to simple-minded people as a "strong leader" the same way Trump does, but he is basically a face of a system of oligarchs that is sucking the country dry.

Russia is interesting as it's basically a continent of its own, but economically, you're better of in East Europe - or even Mexico.

Some may argue with me, but I know what I am speaking about. I have been there as a diplomat.
>>
>>80075066
Oh, one important thing about Russia. Mostly every home in Russia is owned by people, that lives in it.
Any way, mortgage interests are high in Russia, mortgage for many of Russians is not available.
>>
>>80073037
While it's true, most stuff is cheaper here. See >>80075172

When you add up that 1) you have free healthcare and don't need an insurance 2) you don't have college debt 3) tax is 13% flat 4) stuff like electricity and public transport is DIRT cheap compared to Europe—etc, etc…—you realize living in Russia can actually be much cheaper than in US or Europe.

What's not cheaper though is import goods of course. From cars to clothing and electronics, everything costs the same. That's perhaps the most problematic part.

But you know, just an anecdote: I used to have very bad dental health. I had to remove 3 wisdom teeth, then have a Zoom whitening and several teeth restored. Everything cost me less than $1000 in today's money (well, it used to be slightly above $1500 2 years ago). I'm sure in US it would be way more expensive.

> 20 years less life expectancy than in Europe.
I'd say it's offset by drug deaths and alcoholism (remember people drank heavily in USSR and their livers haven't got any cleaner). If you don't do any of that, it's about the same as in Europe.

>What is life like in Russia are there opportunities to make decent money and live a good life?
Life is pretty good. The best part about it,at least for me,is even if you don't really make that much money, you can still live reasonably comfortably. I'm currently a student in Moscow, renting an apartment while I study, and even with a pretty shitty job as basically an intern in a small tech company(30k a month minus the rent and bills) I can afford good food and to go out reasonably often. The thing is,a lot of people complain how corrupt everything is and how nepotism is everywhere, and that to have a good job you have to be basically born into it,be connected, but if you are decently smart you can get a job quite easily,a lot of people just don't want to put in the work.
>Is Vladimir Putin a good leader?
Not really,in my opinion, but there's nobody to take his place. Most of the people who came into power alongside him are corrupt as fuck,so it's obvious why he's not very keen to get rid of all of them.
>Does Vladimir Putin have the Russians best interests at heart?
I don't really think so. He has the interests of the country in the first place, the people living in it are second place.

Abortions have always been free in Russia. There's no shitshow about it, no one cares about them because "muh embryo is a human being" idiocy.

Divorces in Russia aren't huge spectacles in which women get everything. There's no women-centric liberal bias in Russian law.

The difference is, Russia is coming from a shitty background.

HIV treatment/awareness has been lacking in Russia since USSR. The rest is the same case of coming from poor background. It's not much better in post-soviet countries—same as Lithuania, Latvia and so on.

Russia is like the Appalachia of Europe.

Despite the corruption, economic hardship and substance abuse, there are a lot of great places and cultural aspects to be found there. The people value faith and hard work, but at the same time they come across as a bit too proud to accept outside help. Though, who can really blame them given how much they've been let down in the past?

>Are things such as finding a job as an English teacher fairly open to outsiders? Or do Russians only hire Russians?
It's open, but you have to go through an agency, and they usually only teach groups, which are less lucrative than individual studies.
>Is it really as sad as everyone says? Is there a gloomy fell to everything?
Not really. I guess it seems that way to burgers because everyone doesn't smile all the time like a lobotomized monkey.
>What are some things that Russians really hate about Non-Russians?
Speaking of our South-Eastern "brothers",their presence. Nobody likes hachi.
>What is a personal estimate on the amount of your country that can speak more than one language?
A lot of people now the very basics,as in Hello my name Olya I live Moscow, but very few know English well, and I'm not even talking about other languages.
>How are the girls? Are they really 10/10s like the internet says?
Depends on where you live,Moscow-Saint Petersburg a lot of them are in the 8-10 range, but to say that all of them are like that would be an exagerration.
>What are some fun things you guys do in your spare time? Do Russians often have gaming as a hobby? Or moreso nightclubbing?
Hobbies are varied,in that regard it's the same as everywhere. Although one thing different would be going to dacha,a country house. Almost everyone got one,and spending time there is a good pasttime. Concerning nightclubbing, have someone local with you, almost every nightclub has at least a few drunk assholes.

In Moscow/St.P definitely.
>Is it really as sad as everyone says? Is there a gloomy fell to everything?
Not really. Though people are not as talkative to strangers, and wearing smile all the time is not really a thing. So neutral russian faces may indeed seem gloom to permasmiling americans.
>What is a personal estimate on the amount of your country that can speak more than one language?
Dunno, not many.
>How are the girls? Are they really 10/10s like the internet says?
The average level of beauty is a lot higher. Like in NYC you'll see a lot of black, asian, mongrel shitfaced women. So Russia has "whiteness" advantage which improves the average woman looks, and also a lot less man-jawed women overall.
>What are some fun things you guys do in your spare time? Do Russians often have gaming as a hobby? Or moreso nightclubbing?
Everything you can imagine. And nighclubbing in Moscow/St.P are better than anywhere else. Luxury parties, techno parties, hip-hop parties, rock venues, all night long raves, for every taste.

The sanctions targeted some of Putin's inner circle and some Russian banks. The Crimean invasion scared off all foreign investment. If the sanctions were real like they did with Iran it would have collapsed now. Banning Russia from SWIFT, and an embargo on their products and exports.

Except the West has no interest in Russia actually collapsing since it would create a chaos zone that cannot be controlled.

Gabon has 1.4 million people. Russia has 100x their population at 140 million in the world's largest country with various disparities in development.

But still get Periscope on your phone and check out all the Russians who stream from there. I was talking to some Korean looking chick on there from Yakutsk and she went to a modern school, where people had modern clothes and everyone had smartphones. It's not that bad.

Russians also do more with less. And I don't think USD is as relevant to non-Western economies anyway.

Having been to the major cities in Western Russia, it was definitely livable. and it was nice to see so many people at once and yet 95% were white. It was a weird feeling almost, I'm not used to big crowds in cities being that white (in a good way).

Impossible. Gun laws are extremely strict and self-defence is limited to gas sprays and non-lethal firearms. Your best hope for real guns is hunting permit and it's extremely limited too.

Corruption everywhere, thieving politicians openly flaunt their schemes because they know they won't get punished, the police are pretty much a legalized mafia, regular people want nothing more than to see those around them suffer.

The Russia I consider my homeland died in 1917.

Feel free to talk shit about them all day. Free speech means they are free to get in your face, also.
>How hard is it to get gun and how hard is it to carry one for self defense in public legally?
Not really hard to get one (just a bunch of paperwork).
You can't carry one in public. And in fact you can't use one for self-defense, because the court will find you guilty if some kind of murder/manslaugher/accident leading to death etc. 100% of the time.
>Pretty much what 1st/2nd amendment rights does Russia allow?
Can't really talk shit about government in public (a complex matter really), no support of Nazism ever (due to WW2 obv.), so not that great. in private though - no polit corr. bullshit, so feel free to shittalk about everything and everyone.
No 2nd amendment rights whatsoever.

No, I've seen improvements that happened under Putin. They happened through 2002-2006. After that something clicked and he went full Kim Jong Un. Fair enough, I'm still not a fan of the direction our country is going in either though.

Americans think it's impossible to have positive change but the gigantic leap from the 90s to the 2000s was more than huge in Russia.

Just imagine what Trump could do if he gets elected. We're the most powerful country in the world with a shit load of dilapidated, decrepit cities that are basically a war zone with infrastructure that is falling apart.

That needs to change. Send the military out to Chiraq Detroit Baltimore etc if that's what you need to bring peace.

The shits says "Хyяpим пo-чepнoмy", which is a vulgar way to say "we work hard" with an additional layer of meaning because it can also be read as "we work (like) black". "Working like a Nergo" is a Russian expression that means "Working very hard for little compensation", basically "working like a slave". I suppose that's because the first image for the word "slave" is a black slave on American plantations or something.

I want to live in Russia, preferably St. Petersburg, but I'm afraid english will not do, and it would take a lot of time to learn russian.

I am a computer programmer and usually work with companies in England, Germany, the US, etc. I am also worried that it will be harder from Russia (or any other non-EU country really).

I got a few 100k euros in the bank, which would keep me while I get settled. I think the best way would be to find a russian girlfriend and get into the language and culture and stuff that way. I'm not some weirdo, if I move there the intention is to become Russian, just like russians that live in Sweden are swedish; a relationship with a russian woman just seems like the best way to get "into the system".

St. Petersburg is perfect imo. It's beautiful, and close to northern Europe.

I hope these damned sanctions will stop and that there would be better relations up here. Fighting Russia and at the same time taking in a bunch of middle east shits is as backwards as it gets...

Das jährliche Brutto-Durchschnittseinkommen von Vollzeitbeschäftigten liegt 2013 bei 41.388 Euro.

So, 3 years ago, the average wage for full-time employees was already 3,5k monthly before taxes, which is slightly less than 2k after taxes.

Then, you are in the same boat, as is most of Central Europe.

>>80086473
Nu-uh. I cant believe you are spouting this nonsense, if you pretty much share all our economic key numbers.
>>
>>80086768
>41k in germany

you are far away from reality, i have worked in your country as IT engineer, starting salaries everywhere are way way under that

Merkel please leave.
>>
>>80086683
So? They took out a loan and then the currency plunged. Now they have to give back more than they took if you are speaking in terms of local currency. What's your point? It doesn't reflect the way the firm operates at all.
>>
>>80087098
So do I, so I could not be closer to reality.

Which region?
>>
>>80076729
This.

The other Russian's in this thread are either delusional or being intentionally disingenuous. This is the most honest answer of the thread.

Not that Russia isn't without its benefits (hardships tend to mold a more down-to-earth collective), but the extent to which the country is plagued with corruption and economic maladies makes moving here completely inadvisable. Not to mention, there are no future prospects.

People still kill to *leave* here.

It is only the starting salary and you forget that state employees have perks a normal worker does not have.
And for the third time, highly qualified is chemical engineer with 10 years of experience in the industry, not some bureaucrat paper pusher who just got out of school.

Where is the money? The state has less savings than the debt of its companies.

You had 15 years of very high oil prices and all the money has been stolen and sent abroad.
