Economics degrees get worshiped on here a lot for some reason. I don't get it. Why. It's a relatively easy major. Outside of humanities majors, with a few exceptions, Economics is an easy A. Most of it is just memorizing equations and simple concepts.
It's useless for getting a job if you take it at a school that has it in the business school instead of social sciences dept.
Business school programs basically leave the math entirely out.
Econ major here. Going back to school for an accounting degree, hoping to become a CPA. Econ is meme-tier

Yeah but if it's easy, can you still get a job with it?

That sounds kind of ironic that the social science one is the type that includes the math.

BSC and BA really don't differ much in the US. GPA and test scores matter much more.

Some social science branches are big into math. International Relations has significant statistical analysis involved, these days.

Difficulty doesn't really matter at getting employment. Engineering degrees are on average more difficult than Computer Science degrees, but the latter has better employment opportunities.
Economics is really good here; one of the degrees with lowest unemployment rates. We're also lucky so many of our universities offer Erasmus courses and companies recruit students directly from them.

Yes. a BSc can land you a very standard mid-level job in most places, and is a good ticket to working in the far east as well. BAs are virtually worthless
