Because those people actually listen to what Trump says instead of blowing it all off as "he's just trying to get votes! He's not REALLY going to fuck up our debt even more by giving YUGE tax cuts to the wealthy and not cutting spending substantially on entitlements!"
Trump supporters blow off a lot of what he says as showmanship and don't think he'd REALLY do the things he says... except a small subset who just want to watch the world burn.
but most trump supporters don't believe that Trump would actually take in less revenue and not cut a dime from social security or medicare. I mean if he did that it'd be $10 trillion dollars more debt than we're already expecting to have before the end of his second term (and that's by the most dynamic estimates accounting for the economic growth of such tax cuts, that's predicting 11% gdp growth. 11%. Do you know how fucking huge it is when we have 4% GDP growth per year? RIght now we're at 2% or so.. that's massive growth but it still puts us in the hole by $1 trillion dollars a year more deficit)
Most Trump supporters also don't really believe that he'll up and abandom US military bases overseas because the host country didn't pay us protection money, which would impact our ability to project force globally and weaken our military and global influence, effectively ending the American Hegemony, Pax Americana, and the American Century.
Morons who actually believe he'll do such things AND support them think somehow you can be the world's largest economy and be isolationist at the same time.
But for the rest of the people that support him, those that are idiots on a different scale, simply don't think he'll actually do what he'll say.
