FBI director to appear Thursday before lawmakers to explain Clinton decision

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/07/06/key-lawmaker-demands-answers-from-fbi-after-comey-clears-clinton.html?intcmp=hpbt1

>Goodlatte and Johnson both noted that one of the statutes Clinton was suspected of violating does not require criminal intent.

He's not getting away with this bullshit.

"Gross negligence" does not require "intent". Obviously.

It's a horse and pony show. Our congress is pathetic. They have no power over this.

They do this every time there is a big public debacle and then guess what? There is no follow up. It's only an show to make us think they are sticking up for us and that there is justice - yet they do nothing, and consequences are never dealt.

I don't know man.

These lawmakers are calling out the main point about Comey's bullshit: that "gross negligence" in no way requires "intent".

The fact that these lawmakers are on point is very promising.

It means nothing. Loretta Lynch already said she is going to follow recommendation of the FBI. It's not coincidence that Obama's appointed DOJ met with Bill Clinton and then Obama's appointed FBI director pardoned Hillary on the same day Obama was on the campaign trail with her.

Congress is absolutely powerless in this situation unless they call for a fucking coup.

When he fails to explain his advice, it's very possible he'll have to resign.
This is a very clear-cut case, and the upcoming interrogation cuts right to the heart of the matter.

There is no way in hell he will be able to provide a satisfying answer, the guy is toast.
>>
>be secretary of state for the worlds leading hacking nation
>actively not use means to protect confidential information and expedite that information over unprotected channels
>you and your staff get called extremely reckless and careless by the FBI director
>somehow more qualified than a billionaire mogul

Am I missing something here?
>>

No, it's just systemic latency.

This is not going to fly, too much time and attention has gone into this already.

Comey yesterday literally said Hillary was grossly negligent (his literal words: "extremely careless"), which is in itself a felony.

The only reason he gave for not advising charges, was a lack of intent. But negligence in no way requires intent, by definition.

There is no way he will be able to defend this obvious bullshit decision.

>>79954157

Dude go look on youtube all the times that Congress has grilled people.

Obama's ATF nominee, the Federal Reserve, Wall Street, Goldman Sachs

It's routine
>>
>>79954552
This is a very simple matter though, "why do you assume intent is required for negligence?"
>>
>>79954626

Ok so he will have to give reason

It doesn't change the fact that congress has ZERO legal authority in the matter

No one is obligated to listen to congress
>>
>>79954736
Comey will not be able to maintain his position after a public humiliation like that.
>>
>>79953861
They can impeach Lynch and Comey
>>
>>79953861
Mexican tier corruption to put the monkey's champion on th WH.
>>
Here's a little explanation using the actual federal criminal law.

Comey's only argument was a lack of "intent" (= "willfulness"), but the law clearly indicates and distinguishes both "willful" and "negligent" mishandling of information.

Comey is full of shit, and about to get reamed tomorrow.
>>
>>79954801
Then FBI anon will be proved right that Comey will resign.

Either way just means we have to double down on our work to ramp up the pressure.
>>
>>79954736
I'm pretty sure Congress can impeach Comey and Lynch? They're appointed positions but Congress can still do something about them.
>>

Fix't

We all know Comey is going to resign, it's part of the show, it'll make it look like congress actually did something for us but Clinton will still face no repercussions.
