I've no idea where or when "Wrath of the Saxon" or whatever it's called began but it's not the original and I find no evidence of it being written by Kipling. Above is the actual poem. It was written about the first world war and I don't know why someone felt the need to change that one word throughout. It frustrates to no end reading it constantly.

As far as I can tell your version is, as I said, a corruption to appeal more to Americans. Makes them look stupid every time I read it though. Often they don't even attribute it to Kipling at all. It's an odd phenomenon.
