This election was always going to be a race to the bottom, which favors Trump. Notice how despite Hillary still leading in the polls, her numbers are actually trending consistently downward. The more people see of Hillary the less they like her and the more her corruption comes to light - she's a known quantity. The only place she can go is down.
Trump has the advantage of being able to pivot and shore up his negatives as the public gets more used to him.
It's going to get even nastier than it already is, it will become a nation-wide shitshow like we've never seen before. An atmosphere of chaos, where Trump will thrive just enough to clinch the election in a nail-bitingly close victory.
That's just my prediction though. I'm hoping for a Trump blowout after Hillary is indicted because I have a feeling the FBI is simply not going to let this one go. Even if she's not indicted, it will look like she should have been and was saved by political bullshit.
The First Debate is what's really going to clinch things, since believe it or not a lot of people still haven't ever really "heard" Trump. They've seen him in clips, or quotes taken out of context, but the Debate will be millions of voters' first time actually sitting down and listening to The Don put it all on the table.
The Convention might help immensely too if Trump really structures it for maximum positive branding.
