Chris is going to go to his grave as an underachiever and an idiot. He's spent his entire life completely failing to reach any of his goals, due to his massive ego (largely taught to him by his horrible parents) constantly preventing him from approaching inconvenient realities. He'll do anything and everything except work hard and criticize himself. That won't suddenly change just because Barb dies.
