GMOs are usually patented by US corporations. This kills Polish farmer. That's why we hate GMO's. No US IP laws forcing our farmers to die in debt.
The first GMO's were potatoes, more specifically the leaves of potatoes to make them more resistant to pests and insects.

Can these farmers reseed these potatoes? No! They must buy new seeds from the corporation every season because of muh protect the natural species from mutants.
1) Reduces nutrition which is BAD for the person consuming
2) Means you get no bugs sometimes which mean less pesticide which is GOOD for person consuming and the farmer
3) Mean the food cannot bear seed which is VERY BAD for farmers but VERY GOOD for corporations

It's a problem even for American farmers. You have to fertilize and apply pesticides to their exact specifications after licensing and purchasing all of your seeds. A slight deviation from Monsanto procedures is grounds for a lawsuit.
The cost of growing Monsanto crops is outrageous because you need licensing, they fix seed prices, and all of the chemicals they require you to use. The yield is good and it's very consistent, so they keep you coming back.
The cost of growing Monsanto GMOs is probably insurmountable for foreigners, but the legal struggle is worse than you imagine.

Good, the DNA of the stuff we eat makes no difference on how we process it, we need to pay attention only to the components. That being said fuck Monsanto for trying to use all GMO food as a shield for their jewery.
There is nothing to "believe". They are healthier and yield more than almost any "organic" food. They are responsible for ending hunger in huge parts of the world.
