They don't actually believe anything, it's all just social signalling. They pick up narratives from their professors, friends, and media and repeat them. There's no need for consistency when it's not about making sense of the world, but just showing your class status by signalling how educated, compassionate, and cultured you are. You just alway side with "the other guys" over your own, always shit on the side thats closer to you, no matter if in the big picture, your world view makes no sense and regularly contradicts itself. So in a case of America vs Europe, and American would side with Europe as being much better than shitty america. But in a case of Europe vs Africa, the same person would side with Africa because Europe is an evil racist place ect.
And Christianity is basically the official religion of the west, so of course they are going to shit on it at a disproportional rate than some brown people religion like islam. Even if they are at least aware enough to know islam is sexist or whatever, if you ever criticism it in front of them, they will ALWAYS say something like "yeah but Christianity is pretty bad to!" while you can shit on christianity all you want and all they will ever do is nod in agreement
