That's not true. While NatSoc is authoritarian, a lot of their policies encourage individual development. Examples could be their encouragement of small businesses, individual ownership of arms, and Hitler Youth members prioritizing school and church over their service to the government.

There's a reason a lot of young libertarians sympathise with Nat Soc. Libertarianism is a focus on the individual, where Nat Soc is a focus on the tribe. When you're young, you have a more individualist mindset due to an immortal delusion, but once you're older you realize you're not immortal and that the society you live in requires a certain amount of care-taking.
You can waste your life living only for yourself or you can work for something bigger than you. Ive grown to prefer a balance of individual freedom and tribal loyalty, but in the end, you are nothing and what you leave behind when you die will be more valuable than anything you've done in your life.
When all other logic fails, recognizing that individualism cannot exist in a globalist world, should be the the first step down a more conservative ideology for any non-autistic libertarian.

what crazy world have I woken to? But yeah, basically this. Many people are wrong in their thinking that Natsoc was more about the group over the individual. It was sort of more like trying to blend the importance and support for the individual with the importance towards the group. A very tribalist ideology, that wanted to support the individual but make it clear that for the tribe to survive the individual should want to sacrifice, do what they can so that the group can sustain itself. Without this policy the civilian population becomes divided and no longer wants to do what they can to help their fellow through sheer goodwill. The easiest way to describe it (in my opinion) is that Natsoc's nationalist elements were the modern day version of simple tribalism. The government's duty was to support the people and let them live among their own kind, while taking on the traditional role of most government's of the modern day.
