Eduardo Galeano was a writer that made very touching books just portraying South American as a victim. He was good about dramas and horrible about economy, history or just know himself. Now we have too much of him, and too little of Vargas Llosa.

In SA sooner or later all movements became politicized, they can`t really claim to be a grass roots movement the moment they start following a political party or getting money from the government.
The SJW`s here all aligned with the leftist governments, now that they have been ousted, they have been discredited and have the taint of corruption.

They are absurdly ignorant psh, and there's the indoctrination factor too, public schools and public universities a filled to the brim with teacher and professors that push that bullshit, when i was getting my psychology degree i had at least one class per semester that was pretty much leftist agenda, humanities are hell. Even some of my friends from STEM courses had that problem, social sciences are required for pretty much all courses.
Anyone that doesn't have money and has to interact with the average brazilian is rather immune to this though, it's a strange thing seeing black people be racist against pardos.
I work in a state organism here in Argieland. The new government, while supposedly less left wing than the previous, is still pretty lefty in it's overall cultural approach: support for tolerance against gays, support for multiculturalism, support for shitty modern lifestyle. Plus, most middle and high class don't care about national identity (if there is such a thing in a latin american third world country) and culture; they just want to keep on working and fucking and buying expensive crap. There is no real traditionalist right wing here right now, and there probably won't be for a while.
