Iran's gained Iraq as a sphere of influence, thus destabilizing Saudi Arabia and the UK's hold over the Middle East.
USA got a Democrat president and the Nationalists in the Republican Party will likely never win again. This will result in a slew of reforms that would have been impossible otherwise.
Iraq was never about oil, nation building, or defeating terrorism. It was about creating a pretext for a globalist state.
It destabilized the region and prevented the arab nations forming a united front against common enemies.

No. Asymmetrical warfare is just about unwinnable from a military standpoint.
Insurgents hide in the public, if you try to kill them you're bound to hit civilians, the more civilians you kill (Or the more the Insurgents blame you for) the more people rally to the Insurgent's cause. Your supply of enemies keeps growing and you may not recognize it.
Only surefire way is to kill them all but that defeats the purpose of trying to improve the region and generally goes against US doctrine.
This problem is not specific to American either. The British faced it, Germany faced it in WW2, the Soviets faced in Afghanistan, Israel faces it, etc.

Improvement. Improvement in military technology, techniques and weapons. Medicine/treatments for trauma. Surveillance and tracking methods. Usual shit that comes from wars. Not really worth the money and lives spent however.
