But in the end it's a commercialized game that's trying to appeal to people who know very little about WW1. They just didn't invest enough in its marketing. It's been said because gamers already panned it during development when it was rumored that Sarky got involved in making the game as a consultant. Also, they changed Faith's face to look like that yandere gook-Jew mattress queen.
It was probably nearing completion so they just finished the game, but didn't bother spending more money in marketing a game that people wanted to fail from the beginning. At that point, they just wanted to get some of their money back, if possible.
Negrofield 1 is probably going to share the same fate.

In this game's case, they didn't reveal to anyone that the protag/player-controlled character is most likely going to be black until it was too late and they've already spent some money on marketing. If this fails, it's going to fail hard that it may shelve the BF franchise, or like how Mirror's Edge is probably going to be after its low sales launch, and like how DA: I (also called Cisquisition, ironically) is most likely shelved because most people didn't like the forced """progressive""" shit in it.
In DA: I, straight males got royally hosed when the only romance options they had was some old "stronk womyn" with a manjaw and someone who looks like a poo-in-loo or a nigger. It was so bad that they didn't announce sales figures and instead pointed out to their investors that people were playing it for hours which could be done by having your computer idle. That's just one of many DA: I flaws that contributed to the game tanking. There's the ugly and greasy-looking models. There's the monotonous experience. As mentioned, there's the forced progressive shit. And yet-to-be-fixed game-breaking bugs and graphical glitches. And so on.
If it weren't for their sports games, EA would be in deep trouble.
