It's funny, nobody seems to have learned anything from history, you cannot suppress people through threats and violence, all it does it make people angry, especially in the information age where it's impossible to commit an injustice without it spreading all over social media.
All people have innate sense of fairness and if it's violated they will become very angry and stop following the social contract, that's when you get riots and civil wars.
European values means following the rules of democracy and treating everyone fairly on an individual basis, and that hasn't been happening for a while now, different groups of people are living under different sets of laws, being punished disproportionately or not at all, people's rights and political ideas are not being respected.

What do you mean ? What needs to improve is the system. We can create more enlightened democracy (not everyone has the intelligence and background to vote, even parlementaries). We can create a way to constinutionally save our christian heritage, e.g. by precising we are of christian culture in the constitution (culture, not making france a christian state). This would make the republic recognize all the heritage of the monarchy and christian times which it has trouble to do and is making everyone lose their heads, not knowing what it means to be french.
And there's a lot more things one could do... Ideas for improvement are numerous, why go back to something you know doesn't work because the current system doesn't work as much ?
