You can only join if you have a green card, at which point you would have been able to apply for citizenship after being a 5 yr green card holder, or after 3 years if you obtained your GC through marriage to a US citizen. They only fast track you to citizenship if you serve in the armed forces. You can't just show up without proper documents and expect to enlist and get a citizenship.
