These are short barreled rifles/shotguns, suppressors, AOWs, and full autos that were made and registered prior to May of 1986. These full autos are commonly called 'transferable' as there are many full autos on the market you can find that are 'dealer sample' only which can only be purchased by actual licensed firearms dealers with heavy restrictions.
As long as you live in a state that allows it, you can own a full giggle. No license. Its a short form (ATF Form-4 to transfer an NFA item) and a $200 check followed by a 4-6 month wait. Then you get your machine gun.

Nope, most service rifles in the world are fully automatic. The USA only made the M16A2,M16A4, and M4 burst fire because of Vietnam was the first war where the majority of troops had a weapon that was capable of full-auto in a controllable package and led to a ton of ammo being wasted. Well it's no shit that bullets have killed people since the Chinese invented firearms and they kill in the same fashion. What I meant is that ever since the 1950's we've been using the same technology to create all modern firearms. The M16/FAL/AK/G3 had been invented by this time and all of those rifles use gas created by the explosion of the cartridge to cycle the gun. Firearms haven't advanced much since then except in materials used to create them as well as optics, we're using the same principles discovered in the 1910's-30's and using the same designs perfected in the 40's-50's
