You greatly overestimate their powers. They have the power to destroy their own neighborhoods, to destroy individual bakeries, and to win presidential elections when the republican candidate wants Obamacare or gun control, so long as the republican candidate makes no particular effort and the democrat candidate is viewed as the messiah.
