>>Share your wealth to the poor niggers. it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.
This is so misunderstood it hurts. He was talking about a gate leading to Jerusalem- the camel had to kneel in order to enter through that gate. Essentially it means that humility is hard to accomplish for rich people.

>We are all made in God's image
We are all broken images of God.
>No being racist
That's modern interpretation. Everything modern seems to suck. Wonder why? (Atheism lacks birthrates to save Europe)
>Race mixing is fine since we're all human
Tower of Babel is symbol used by EU. The religion behind this isn't Christianity, it is globalism/judaism/Satanism/atheism/communism
>share your wealth with poor niggers
You mean 'help poor niggers', as many churches have done. Far better than UN or any other corrupt institution. Spreading literacy to niggers through religion has been far more effective than through money.. It is also more effective at keeping them in Africa, since most rapefugees are Muslim.
>No Gene editing to stop retard babies
This is foolish, I agree.
>No abortion of fucked up down syndrome babies
This is less than 5% of abortions. It's just like "Love!" is to "gay rights", red herring for degeneracy.
>Greatest supporters of immigration.
Not true. Church institutions are secondary or tertiary; state institutions and multinational institutions are the ones at fault. You going to blame Germans for their politicians?
>Mostly left
This is doubled with seculars, but whatever.
>Feeds millions of shitskins in Africa just enough to let them breed
The feeding programs are secular in nature, the ones that teach them to grow stuff are religious.
>Pope kissing feet

>Anti race only thing that matters is if you believe

I often see religious people on this board using the straw man fedora nerd to disparage atheists and I always wonder what about atheists makes you so afraid. Many of us are paleoconservative reactionaries to the bone, we just don't buy into religion. You shouldn't feel so threatened by us. I've known many atheists and I've never met a single fedora type. It's embarrassing how you have to use that straw man to attack what threatens you.

You can't be a Christian and worship the occult.

You can't be a Jew and worship the occult either. That's why they are the Jews who say they are Jews, but are not, and do lie.

I know you atheists love to be glib and dismissive as a way of avoiding debate while pretending to have already "pre-won" the debate anyway. I realize that's your stock in trade.

But this one concept is pretty important, please familiarize yourselves with this.

I think there is no need and I feel sorry for those people bc it shows a sad lack of any real argument against atheism.

>>

This argument is pretty compelling until one realizes that this is the same kind of argument people triggered by a certain thing use.

For example:
"Don't call Sweden the most cucked country in Europe. this shows how desperate you are to make us Swedes look bad. Us Swedes, are as redpilled as anyone else. We are on your side"

So, while your argument appears compelling on the surface, I'm afraid it poorly conceals a rather large amount of salt.

I just really don't understand why atheists can go on.

It appears that pleasure, such as sex, drugs, and other shits are the only thing they're after, but how does that make them any different from animals?

What religion does is setting an arbitrary list of rules and pretending it is a will of God to legitimize them.

Instead of explaining rationnaly why society should follow their teachings they use a mythology full of "magic" (or miracle as they call it).

Christianity is like every single religion before itself and use the exact same trick.

I don't say it is bad, Christianity for example was a precious tool to pacify and structure european societies (the role of the Church) after the fall of Roman Empire, basically maintaining partially the greek/romand spirit and so western civilization.

The other advantage of Christianity is its relative flexibility compared to Islam for example, which is still stucked in the VIth century.

The difference with atheist is that we generally find it is okay to say we don't know what the cause of something is. It just seems unlikely to us that a "god" was the cause of it.

There's lots of things in life people don't understand. I don't understand the want to presume "god did it" is the answer to all of them.

But there is no reason to have a God. There is no demonstrable reason as to why you need God to exist. Just because there is no alternative explanation doesn't mean that it must be true.

I literally just said the opposite. Science is not at all about getting answers to everything. It's not even about finding absolute truth. It's about finding what is more likely or less likely to be true.

>How can such a ball of energy exist?
Nitpicking here, but it's not a "ball". Our best observations suggest the universe is most likely infinite. Everything is was much closer together at the moment of the big bang, but there was no edges.

>Makes no fucking sense without a God.
God is one theory for the cause of the big bang. There are many many others floating around. No one has much confidence in which one might be right though if any. It certainly could have been God, but "god did it" theories of physical phenomena have a poor track record. But who knows, maybe we'll find evidence someday that an intelligent being created the universe and has the power and the will to manipulate it. So far though, everything just seems to follow a few simple mathematical rules.

Basically he's saying reddit fedoras think socialism works because they think humans can be perfect. When anyone with a brain knows this isn't true and that's why socialism doesn't work

but most people dont have a brain so communist leaders always foguht abrahamic religions because these religions show that humans are corruptible and they thought that if they got rid of the religion, people would believe socialism would work because they didn't know humans were corruptible.

let's say god is real. What is your religion? christianity i'm guessing? So why should I believe anything more than the basic concept of whether or not god is real? Why should I move further down the line and start "accepting jesus" and the other more human stuff about religion?

Honestly, believing a God was real wouldn't change anything at all. God wouldn't even have human thoughts or even be like humans at all, he (it) would just be "there." the existence of God just doesn't really MATTER in the long run, because it wouldnt change anything. It would be foolish to attempt to explain everything as we know it with a simple "It was god´s will."

We know the singularity existed because we are aware that the universe is expanding, thus it explains it started in a single point. Hubble´s law.
We know there was an explosion because there is evidence of it. Cosmic background radiation.

As to how did this singularity was created, we don´t know. The only theory I can think of is the Big Crunch Theory, but obviously we can not prove it, we would have to witness the end of the universe in that case or at least the point in which the universe stops expanding, and instead starts contracting.

Multi universe. There's been a lot of talk that the big bang could have been created inside a black hole in another universe, since the environment in the centre of a black hole is very similar to the one that appears to have existed at the big bang.

I've heard some rather abstract ones about waves explaining a lot of what we see in the universe and explaining a possible big bang origin, but I'm not well read up on these.

>"Quantum mechanics"?
Why the quotes? Quantum mechanics is a very measurable process. The computer you're using requires it to be true in order to work.

>How is that any more likely than a God?
That depends on your personal opinion I guess. But those other theories certainly make less assumption than presuming it was a God, and more importantly they are testable. If true, they make predictions of for phenomenons we should be able to observe in the universe or in particle accelerators. Saying it was God makes no predictable observations. As such you can presume it was God if you like, but Science will proceed to form testable theories. Basically there is some observational evidence to suggest that it could be some of these theories, but there is none to suggest it could be God. Similarly I could claim it was a future version of me who created the universe. That's possible too, but cannot be tested because it makes no prediction of something about the universe we should be able to observe if it's true.

That has nothing to do with my quote though.

Also they weren't trying to produce life with simulations of the universe either. We don't have anything like the computational power needed to do that.

>Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Fluctuations, black holes, how can you rely so deeply on incomplete answers?
These are all directly observable phenomena. I'm not sure what point you're making. Done of these have anything to do with God. They don't prove or disprove God. If you believe in God then typically you believe he created all these things. Do you think some of these things aren't real or something? I'm not sure why you think they are relevant.
>>
They're incomplete theories, they are observable, but scientists have no idea exactly how they work.
They have the power to make an exact simulation of the universe, but it doesn't produce life, what do you mean it doesn't have the computational power? yes it does.
>>
>>78916530
Cambrian explosion was sudden from a geological stance. it took millions of years, really. But I don't think evolution gets disproved just because we haven't found the cause of this exact one event. i'm guessing that what happened was there was a major mutation in the DNA of one of these creatures but that still allowed reproduction with un-mutated creatures. maybe one core gene changed? and/or maybe there was some environmental factor causing severe changes to the gene pool throughout the 20 million or so years during the "explosion", that caused the rise of many diverse forms of life? there could be many explanations, even multiple that are true at the same time-- we just dont know WHICH explanation. But one things for certain, they didnt just pop out of nowhere.

Evolution is a mutation of genes in the gene pool. most of the creatures that mutate will die. but sometimes, they will live. after many mutations, and many successful reproductions (but many MORE failures), these "new organisms" will no longer be able to reproduce with the original organism. That's a species. natural selection is just whether or not the organism will live to reproduce, or die before that (or even be able to reproduce for that matter.) If a mutation in the gene like being retarded or having muscular dystrophy happens, then that organism with that mutation (humans classify them as disorders) will probably not live long enough to reproduce or simply not be able to. Or no one will be attracted to them. you are attracted to what you look like because that it what looks most viable to reproduce with to your brain

also what do you mean "skeptical of man"? i already stated that humans are corruptible, and that you dont need to bleieve in god to know that, just take the failures of socialism and all our stupid fucking petty wars

>>

>but scientists have no idea exactly how they work.
What do you mean? We have extremely solid theories on how they work. We can predict how particles behave quantum scales with insane accuracy. Again, this why what let's us build modern computer chips. If we didn't understand quantum mechanics as well as we do we wouldn't be able to build them. Black holes are extremely easy to observe, we see them all the time including one at the centre of our galaxy.

>They have the power to make an exact simulation of the universe
What are you on about? Any simulation of the universe at the very best simulates stars as the smallest unit of data. There are billions of billions of billions of stars in the observable universe. We certainly can't simulate the planets on each of those stars. No computer on earth has enough memory to store that kind of data. Let alone simulate organic chemistry over billions of years on each of those planets.

http://www.evolution.berkeley.edu/evosite/evo101/VIIB1cCambrian.shtml
"In perhaps as few as 10 million years, marine animals evolved most of the basic body forms that we observe in modern groups."

http://www.livescience.com/28098-cambrian-period.html
"The Cambrian Period is the first geological time period of the Paleozoic Era (the “time of ancient life”). This period lasted about 53 million years and marked a dramatic burst of evolutionary changes in life on Earth, known as the "Cambrian Explosion.""

so overall, it's actually unknown exactly how many years it lasted, but definitely millions of years if anything. more recent evolution tells us that this is more likely the case. But there's NO WAY they just popped out of nowhere

no fossils =/= no life, because intervertebrate organisms and bacteria also = life. vertebrate animals could have still evolved from bacteria and so they were the first fossils

and the general modern type of life (vertebrates) started appearing because of mutations. once again, we don't know how long the whole thing lasted or why these mutations came up, but it could be environmental factors too.

because it didnt just appear. you dont think that after billions of years, some form of order would eventually happen? small, insignificant forms of order in close proximity at first. eventually they might come together, to form bigger forms of order. after another few billions of years, we are here.

I find it more astonishing that you DONT think a complex order would be established somewhere in our unimaginably enormous and incredible universe over such an incomprehensibly huge amount of time. humans seem unique and "chosen" to humans like ourselves, buth other forms of "life" (outside current definitions of life which are based on Earth-like organisms) could exist elsewhere in the universe, composed of completely different basic forms. maybe they wouldnt be made of carbon, maybe cells would not be what they are composed of, etc

A eukaryotic cell's organelles exist because the organelles used to be individual organisms before the eukaryotic cell. the organism entered the prokaryotic cell and actually helped the cell function and could be seen as a form of "mutation" or change in a lifeform's composition. "But how could it just 'work' like that?" you ask. Well it really DID just happen like that, even though the organism and the cell are pretty similar. Maybe many other types of organisms DID become a part of the prokaryotic cell but it became a burden, killed the cell, or the cell just didnt reproduce. it took millions of guesses in the dark before something finally worked. That's why it took such a long time for life to develop. the universe (it has no conscience) "tried" every possible thing to create life, and while almost every single attempt failed, it worked sometimes.
>>
>>78921513
I guess you could call it "accidental" in the fact that it wasnt an intentional conscious decision to try everything, as it was just physics and chemistry in the long run. But if you really want to, you could just say God did the big bang. It wouldn't really change anything, because God's existence really doesnt matter. God wouldnt have human meat fat wiring to think like we do. you could classify God as "the universe" and that God is "everything." But at that point god's existence makes no difference in the world or how we think

the human mind is very deceptive and so you have a mindset that you've created that anything you dont understand "must be god." it's actually just human nature, really. humans tend to believe in the supernatural because it is just really convincing. "spiritual energy" "soul" dont mean anything. it's just the brain's illusion. It doens't matter how certain or confident you are about souls and spirits or whatever, because once again-- brains are EXTREMELY deceptive. and you can make yourself believe anything if you put your mind to it. also that whole thing about moving objects is probably just an optical illusion, but if you set your mind up to believe its god and souls, then that IS hwat you are going to believe

Same way as the sun and earth formed. Clouds of dust. Dust slowly forms into rocks. Rocks slowly form into asteroids. Asteroids form into small planets. Small planets from into big ones.

For the same reason the earth is not sucked into the Sun. We are in orbit around the Sun. We are not close to any black holes to fall into, but if we were we would likely be in orbit around them too.

Sometimes star and other black holes can fall into black holes too as their orbits can decay over time. There are multiple stars orbiting the black hole at the centre of the milky way, some will likely fall into it years to come.

>Because quantum fluctuations Are basically God, a creator, not some random force of nature, it's just a cop out
That's possible anon. But it wouldn't shock me if we understand the nature of quantum fluctuations in our lifetime. We once thought lightning was caused by God once too. Now that seems hard for anyone to believe since we don't find it so mysterious anymore.

honestly i have no place to talk about the big bang and all that stuff, not very well-informed in that. like i said, go ahead and believe that God did the big bang, but anything after that doesn't make sense. Though I'd say that if we've proven God wasn't part of all the other things we used to think he was a part of, it's safe to assume he didnt start the big bang either.

believing it was god and souls is much more of a half-baked far fetched "theory" than it just being a simple illusion using a string or something.

Yeah I'm sure dumb enough to fall for that one, right.
Just go there, don't try and make up some theory about my experience and have your own.

so because you dont know what it is, it must be proof of the all-powerful all-knowing all-present ruler of the universe? That is more far-fetched more than any other conceivable idea
And no I'm not going to go there just to come back to this thread and say "found the string." If you went to Indonesia and did the whole thing feeling skeptical and looking for things to prove wrong, it probably wouldnt have felt as "divine."

When you find a modern jaw fish in the same soil of a trilobite, that would make me suspicious of evolution theory. However we never find instances of advanced and more evolved creatures in the same soil depth of a very ancient creature. This suggests life became more complex after time and evolution.

The word you are looking for is Hypothesis, which is something with no testing or observation, no actually scientific method applied just thoughts swimming in your head. Thats a hypothesis. A theory is something to be tested and tried, however still up for debate on many things. Gravity is a theory, you know. I have a feeling you are very ignorant of the scientific world.

It's called chi.
I posted a National Geographic video on it.
In the video a monk is hit with a bat that could break his ribs, and yet it doesn't.

Sure, ifs, ands, and buts, all include your theories about me.
None of them are viable though, because you're not me.

>How did the black hole come about is what I meant.
Oh right. Well when planets and other shit get's big enough it can form stars. When stars get big enough they form black holes. The universe is basically a massive gas and dust cloud. Gravity makes it all pull itself together in clumps. Think agar.io i guess. The bigger things get the easier it becomes for them to get even bigger.

>Lightning is on a different level than Quantum mechanics.
In what sense? Electricity was equally mysterious at one time. It took a lot of science work to get from knowing nothing to having a very detailed understanding of the nature of electricity that we have today. Quantum mechanics is still relatively very new.

The problem with nondenominational churches is that they don't read the Bible because they just want to appease everyone.
>>
>>78919438
The sense of community is certainly a part. People are very open and supportive in churches in my experience.

As for the Bible itself, I find that it offers a rewarding way of life. It incentives morality and good will.

>Quantum mechanics are far away
huh? Like i said multiple times, quantum mechanics is part of what enables your computer to work. You can observe it easily with a double slit experiment, see pic. If you did physics in high school they might have done this in class.

Quantum mechanics is something that affects all matter everywhere, just on a small scale. I'm not sure what made you think it was something far away.

Hope you find the black hole stuff interesting btw. You asked some good questions.

right. Still not impossible to develop theories and testable predictions. Just because some stuff happens far away doesn't mean we can't measure it.

That's what I'm questioning in this situation.
>>
>>78920872
>How do those black holes have such high gravity?
They are an extremely high amount of matter condensed down to an extremely small point. They break the conventional idea of space and time. I'm not sure how much weight this theory holds, but the matter in a black hole is so dense it fills space that goes beyond our dimension.

This is it in a nut shell. Even if all the religions are wrong it doesn't change the fact the SOMETHING must have created the universe or at least structured the LAWS of physics.

Atheists believe that you could grab a handful of sand, chuck it on the floor and it could land perfectly to make a copy of the mona lisa, and they wouldn't be shocked by it or be in awe at al, they'd just brush it off as pure random luck nothing special.

>the face of a man who can't understand why people keep quoting his anti-religious stance as some sort of end-all answer.

Seriously man, Dawkins is more concerned with the pursuit of knowledge than he is in disproving religion and shitting all over it. The man acknowledges the evil of religion (or rather, religion as interpreted and executed by flawed man) but still sees what we have as the 'major' religion as leagues better than the alternative.

>You can measure what caused the expansion of the universe? Personally?
Yes. You can develop theories about what caused it. Perhaps that a certain particle could exist that causes the expansion. Theories like this are hard to come up with because they have to make sense within the standard model of physics, or predict everything that the standard model has already predicted and verified. If you can do that, then maybe the same theory will make some new testable theories. Perhaps the particle you predict can;t be directly observed, but perhaps if it exists, it would be expected to interact with other particles, producing measurable effects. Like, perhaps it would cause certain kinds of galaxies to be heavier than others, or would cause certain kinds of light to be emitted when it interacts with particles on earth. Then you can test these predictions. If they turn out to be correct, it adds a lot of weight to the theory and perhaps new things can be predicted based on the exact measurements made.

This is how most science works. It's how we know the big bang happened among a lot of other stuff.
>>
>>78924579
no, except "Deus vult" "christians"
>>
>>78924507
But you CAN do that. It is a statistical certainty of it happening if you had infinite rolls of the dice.

Also the laws of physics are the way they are because if they weren't then you wouldn't be here to observe them as any different.
