Nitpicking here, but it's not a "ball". Our best observations suggest the universe is most likely infinite. Everything is was much closer together at the moment of the big bang, but there was no edges.

God is one theory for the cause of the big bang. There are many many others floating around. No one has much confidence in which one might be right though if any. It certainly could have been God, but "god did it" theories of physical phenomena have a poor track record. But who knows, maybe we'll find evidence someday that an intelligent being created the universe and has the power and the will to manipulate it. So far though, everything just seems to follow a few simple mathematical rules.

It would be foolish to attempt to explain everything as we know it with a simple "It was god´s will."
We know the singularity existed because we are aware that the universe is expanding, thus it explains it started in a single point. Hubble´s law.
We know there was an explosion because there is evidence of it. Cosmic background radiation.
As to how did this singularity was created, we don´t know. The only theory I can think of is the Big Crunch Theory, but obviously we can not prove it, we would have to witness the end of the universe in that case or at least the point in which the universe stops expanding, and instead starts contracting.

Cambrian explosion was sudden from a geological stance. it took millions of years, really. Evolution is a mutation of genes in the gene pool. most of the creatures that mutate will die. but sometimes, they will live. after many mutations, and many successful reproductions (but many MORE failures), these "new organisms" will no longer be able to reproduce with the original organism. That's a species. natural selection is just whether or not the organism will live to reproduce, or die before that (or even be able to reproduce for that matter.) If a mutation in the gene like being retarded or having muscular dystrophy happens, then that organism with that mutation (humans classify them as disorders) will probably not live long enough to reproduce or simply not be able to. Or no one will be attracted to them. you are attracted to what you look like because that it what looks most viable to reproduce with to your brain

I was an atheist for a long time. I consider myself now "optimistically agnostic".
As an atheist, the main motivation for me was searching for some meaning to my life. Britain is pretty anti-Christianity so I'd never really had much experience with religion other than watching the mudslimes at my school lick the floor every few hours.
I definitely feel more fulfilled now that i read the bible and go to church of a Sunday, but i still can't quite believe 100%.

so overall, it's actually unknown exactly how many years it lasted, but definitely millions of years if anything. more recent evolution tells us that this is more likely the case. But there's NO WAY they just popped out of nowhere
no fossils =/= no life, because intervertebrate organisms and bacteria also = life. vertebrate animals could have still evolved from bacteria and so they were the first fossils
and the general modern type of life (vertebrates) started appearing because of mutations. once again, we don't know how long the whole thing lasted or why these mutations came up, but it could be environmental factors too.

I was raised by a family of people who although were raised by Christian parents, did not teach any beliefs to me.
Do I have to believe in God to be a good person with solid morals, or should I try to follow the teachings but continue to go as I do and disregard the fact that God exists?
I think religion came about because people wanted to explain what they couldn't at the time, but that doesn't mean I don't think the bible teaches good morals to follow. I'm quite a fan of community after all.

"But how could it just 'work' like that?" you ask. Well it really DID just happen like that, even though the organism and the cell are pretty similar. Maybe many other types of organisms DID become a part of the prokaryotic cell but it became a burden, killed the cell, or the cell just didnt reproduce. it took millions of guesses in the dark before something finally worked. That's why it took such a long time for life to develop. the universe (it has no conscience) "tried" every possible thing to create life, and while almost every single attempt failed, it worked sometimes.

Sometimes star and other black holes can fall into black holes too as their orbits can decay over time. There are multiple stars orbiting the black hole at the centre of the milky way, some will likely fall into it years to come.

Yes. You can develop theories about what caused it. Perhaps that a certain particle could exist that causes the expansion. Theories like this are hard to come up with because they have to make sense within the standard model of physics, or predict everything that the standard model has already predicted and verified. If you can do that, then maybe the same theory will make some new testable theories. Perhaps the particle you predict can;t be directly observed, but perhaps if it exists, it would be expected to interact with other particles, producing measurable effects. Like, perhaps it would cause certain kinds of galaxies to be heavier than others, or would cause certain kinds of light to be emitted when it interacts with particles on earth. Then you can test these predictions. If they turn out to be correct, it adds a lot of weight to the theory and perhaps new things can be predicted based on the exact measurements made.
This is how most science works. It's how we know the big bang happened among a lot of other stuff.
