When you take in to consideration the period of time that refers to, it turns out to be a pretty good deal for the woman and her family.
Back then the only real chance a woman had was to stay a virgin and get married off. Being raped took that away and subjected the woman to a rather short miserable life if not ended after the fact. Let me "redpill" you on why Islam propagates violence. You will not hear this from the muslims on this board.
Islam has a very "karmic" doctrine. Its basic principles instill the sense that when a muslim commits sin, he can make up for it by doing something else, however unrelated that may be to the initial sin. It's the classic story of the sinner that goes to church every Sunday but does bad stuff throughout the week. Multiply this tenfold, and you have Islam.
This is why you almost exclusively see muslims commit the extraordinarily violent attacks. Poverty and a suppressed/destabilized society are big factors of course, but this is a very big reason that is often overlooked.
When Erdogan is involved in a massive corruption scandal, his supporters deem it okay, because he also built roads and mosques.
