So is this just a meme or might it actually happen? I don't see how China would ever allow it.

Please post if you live in a former colony.

this would never happen
>>78887872
is that how WWIII starts?
China would never, ever allow Hong Kong to leave. Britain would have to force them to give it up, and I'm not sure Britain is capable of that any more.
Or, at least, not yet. Give it a few years, Britain may be stronger and China may be weaker.

The only thing that will subjugate China is the verdict of UN and pressure from Russia and US if ever Russia will have good terms with UK in the future
so is this going to be HKoin?
British Empire rekindled soon fellow commonwealth bros
It's a fucking meme. HongCucks can't do shit other than protesting and UK won't do anything because they wouldn't want to piss off a potential trade partner.
>>78889739
how do singaporeans and malaysians feel about getting closer to UK again?
>>78889739
this man speaks the truth
sucks
>>78887872
No. Why are you guys excited about this? If you're a white Brit you don't wanna be a minority and swamped by Hong Kong immigrants.
This is fucking stupid.
>>78889739
>UK won't do anything because they wouldn't want to piss off a potential trade partner
You realize they just left the Eurozone for shits and giggles?
>china giving up "their" soil
>>78889865
Sit and wait what happens while lining up for trade agreements.
Very neutral-positive, unlike Australia desu.
>Singapore will continue to cultivate our ties with Britain, which is a long standing friend and partner. We hope in time the uncertainty will diminish, and we will make the best of the new reality.
All commonwealth countries should reunite to form the british union, most of you kept your cuckstamps and the rest of you have shitty flags or are in need of colonial masters

For Singapore, positively.
Everyone around here (Malaysia included) hates us because we actually learned how to into Western science and economics while they're still scrubbing around in their mud huts or whatever it is that they do.
1965 when the British left was the last time we actually had a friend.
Well, except for Israel. But we all know where that road leads.
>>78890531
There is absolutely no reason for us to join the UK. We're doing well enough as things are.
>>78887872
>just a meme
as much of a meme as the brexit and Trump...
>>78887872
You just left the EU, you think you've got the power in trade to take sides with Hong Kong over China? Dude, don't be clueless.
>>78890700
Quite the slippery slope there cunt
>>78890182
We left the EU not the eurozone
We were never in the eurozone you dumb burger
I'd be fine with coming back if it really turns out you guys aren't cucks anymore
>>78890609
>1965 when the British left was the last time we actually had a friend.
exsqueeze me mate?
many aussies (not chinks in australia) go to singapore for education or to work plus our defence treaty, our militaries still do joint exercises
>>78887872
You know they're a tiny minority right? Derided by basically everyone else in HK as a bunch of idealistic, lazy, good for nothings.
>>78889619
They're a nuclear power with no small population which remains mostly loyal due to gov't control of information. Good luck with "hard" pressure.
For "soft" pressure, It would take a massive political shift for China to let go of Hong Kong, as they're currently holding on both for matters of pride (of territory) and the obvious trade benefits.
>>78890182
yah but they took over Hong Kong in the "gunboat diplomacy" days before China became semi-industrialized. Taking it back now would be a far more serious/bloody proposition
>>78890672
Why the fuck would we join the UK?
Pic related is a daily reminder that on every 15th February, all our sirens will blare out to remind ourselves we shouldn't trust the Eternal Anglo.
>>78887872
China would prefer to go war with UK than discussing about Hong Kong joining UK in public.
