>>

Not a member of the parliament
>>
>>78762994
if he runs next election and wins his seat, could he be? Us burgers don't understand your elections.
>>
>>78762843
>>78763205

If the two of you really don't know what this mean or have an extremely basic knowledge on how the parliamentary system in the UK works, you're complete fucking idiots.
>>
>>78763205

He's not a Member of Parliament. A congressman, basically.
>>
>>78763302
this, youll have to explain to us burgers how the election of a PM works.

>>78763326
I didnt know you had to be a member of parliament to be PM.

not like they teach that in American Schools.

I figured parliament is basically the british Congress, only more high class and shit, and the Pm is basically like a President or secretary of state, only under the monarch. or something
>>
>>78763205

It just means he's not a member of Parliament, his party (UKIP) have just 1 seat in the House of Commons and somebody else in the party has it. Hell he wasn't officially part of the Brexit campaign.
>>
>>78763326
The important thing is that you've found a way to feel superior to both of them.

>>78762843
Generals can't be kaings, my dear emu friend.

If somebody said, "The Republicans control Congress now. Does that mean Obama isn't President anymore," I would be equally merciless.
>>
>>78763524
The can be emperors tho
>>
>>78763511
I really don't. Usually, when I see comments like this, I suspect they're bait. I'm more embarrassed that people could be so shameless about their ignorance.

The Republicans control Congress now. Does that mean Obama will be kicked out before the end of the year?

Who cares! It's a Nige /thread.
>>
>>78763621
It wasn't that, it's not knowing how the most common system of government in the world works.
>>
>>78763524

Wise words, Ho Chi.
>>

>Hell he wasn't officially part of the Brexit campaign
That's really surprising, he was the face of it over here.
>>
Nigel may be an improvement but he's still a lunatic. I'd rather have the libertarianish Boris Johnson
>>
>>78762843
Not an MP and not in the Conservative Party. The Conservatives are in Government so they choose the leader.
>>
>>78763926
It's not the one of the country I live in, therefore, it's irrelevant
>>
>>78763987
Will there be a vote within the party or how is it decided?
>>
>>78764164
MPs nominate candidates between themselves. All members vote from those picked.
>>
>>78763987
so how does the queen figure into that process? Just the figure they present their decision to, basically, but has little if any say? I mean I know the queen can dissolve parliament, but what about the PM?
>>
>>78764105
Then why the fuck are you even asking about it?
>>
>>78764224
That makes sense.
>>
>>78764249
She accepts whoever can form a government.
>>
They fear him.
>>
>>78764224
So its still possible to get an anti-brexit PM?
>>
>>78764317
Not really possible because a majority of the Conservative Party voted for Brexit. Their membership will vote for someone who supported Brexit.
>>
>>78764374
Nice thats good to hear.
>>
>>78763475

The PM is the party leader of the largest party in parliament.
>>
>>78762843
That seat is reserved for based Boris.

Proudly ignorant Amerifat here. If Farage can't be Prime Minister then who, in your opinion, would be 1. the best man for the job and 2. most likely to actually get it.

>this, youll have to explain to us burgers how the election of a PM works.

In the UK there's no presidential election where you vote for a guy. There's the every-4-years "general election" where you vote for Members of Parliament (basically US Congressmen). And then whichever party gets the most Members of Parliament, the party leader becomes Prime Minister.

Essentially the UK combines the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Chairman of the RNC / DNC, and the Presidency, all into one job, the Prime Minister.

And then there's some 800-year-old technicalities that he serves purely at the pleasure of the Queen, but in practice that never gets applied.

So while Farage is the head of the "UKIP National Committee", UKIP isn't the party with the most MPs, so he can't be Prime Minister.

> 1. the best man for the job and 2. most likely to actually get it
I actually don't know, the Brexit result basically robbed almost all the current heavyweght MPs of their legitimacy 'cos they all campaigned for it.
Except pic related, Boris. He's the most likely to get the job, but he is almost literally a clown. People like him because he's funny, not because he has any suggestion of competence.
