I was in Latvia 2 weeks ago.
I was actually surprised as to how many "funded by EU" signs I saw during the whole trip, I drove through the country and basically all highways had those signs. You dudes literally had half the roads until the EU came along.
But all in all, Riga was a pretty town. It's like a mix of soviet commie blocks and modern stuff, looks very comfy
