Why does David Cameron have to respectfully step down? It's not like his party is stepping down, it's just another overhead from thew same party. Is he just sore loser, or is there a legit reason?

He doesn't have to, it's a courtesy. As someone who campaigned to Remain in the EU he can't in good faith be in charge of negotiating the transition to exit the EU.

Yes it may have been worded poorly. I just keep hearing he should "do the right thing" and step down. So basically he campaigned remain, and now he would have to almost argue against his own cause?

HE'S A FUCKING WHITE MALE

Because he backed the wrong horse and the public stopped listening to his bullshit weeks ago.

Because he's corrupt as shit and he had nowhere else to go with the (((globalists))) blackmailing him.

He can't refuse to brexit because the Queen would fuck his shit up. He cant go ahead with brexit because the (((globalists))) would fuck his shit up.

Only way he keeps breathing is if its no longer his choice to make.

Basically. The transition is going to be tough to work out and it makes sense to have somebody in favor of leaving be leading the charge.

I think it's mostly so people are reassured that the government will follow the majority's will when negotiating the transition.

A Brit would probably give a more thorough answer but that's my understanding of it at least.

Public votes for something he didn't want thus creating a shitload of complicated work for the Prime Minister that will go on for years and be a proper fucking headache. Get it wrong and destroy the country. I'd step down too and let someone else fuck it up.
>>
He's gonna step down and retire. Maybe start a nice pig farm.

Yes it's all too easy to label him a lover of the multicult, a globalist or the architect of Project Fear, but let's not forget this man gave the British people the opportunity to have their say in matters that would be hugely damaging to his own party and career in no less than 3 occasions: The voting system referendum, the Scottish Independence referendum and the EU referendum. He didn't want FTPT to end, he didn't want Scotland to become independent and he didn't want us to leave the EU, but it takes a real patriot to have so much conviction in the judgement of his countrymen that he would delegate the task of making those choices directly to the common citizen. How many times have you seen 3 system-changing referenda take place within a 6 year period in a democracy recently?

Looking back to his first days as Prime Minister, he walked into N.10 following a disastrous Labour government with big plans for the country he loves. A 44 year old, enthusiastic politician who coined the term "Big Society" as an indication of how the size of government should be reduced and how Britain would thrive not by top-down micromanagement but by the initiative and hard work of each household, each community, each county. He had just recently lost his terribly ill son and in the process came to understand the necessity of a safety net to look after the most vulnerable in times of need. He was branded a centrist, an appeaser and even a closet socialist for holding such radical ideas in a time of individualism and greed.

Have a closer look at the man who is about to walk off stage. He won't leave behind the firebrand of Thatcher or the iconic resolve of Churchill. But I hope you will come to realise David Cameron has been Britain's most underrated and under-appreciated Prime Minister.

I wish him all the best in his future endeavours. His career ends with a personal defeat but a thunderous victory for his country.

He is literally just a whiny baby and is taking his ball and going home.

great points. he's a stand up guy.

he said he would give the country the referendum and he did. He accepted the results and pledged to do his best to make the transition as painless as possible before he leaves office.

he's deserving of an immense amount of respect.
