What is the official stance of /pol/ on sociology? I have no idea what I want to do with my life so I decided to major in this field. Am I fucked? My goal is to use a sociological perspective to prevent the invasion of Islam and put an end to cultural marxism.

1st there are no jobs in sociology proper (only 3k positions in the entire US, dunno about LEAF, compare to 5 million+ in nursing which pays 3x as much) so you will never actually work in your field. If you wanted to make an actual difference you should have gone to law school and if you aren't smart enough to do that then you weren't going to make a difference anyway.

I majored in Sociology. You will spend 4 years learning about "glorious" Marxism and how Marx was only just a little wrong and with these few corrections Marx was totally still right. It's completely nonsense and intellectually bankrupt.
It is a complete waste of money. Go into any other field as fast as you can run. Even English would've been a better choice.
Switch to a STEM major. Go into a business field if you can't hack STEM.

Sociology is basically marxist theory masquerading as science. This isn't even a conspiracy theory; common sociology 101 material is "marx penned conflict theory, conflict theory is the basis for modern sociology.

Sociology has some useful basis. Unfortunately it is extremely biased in the USA. Extremely biased. So biased that typically departments don't try at all to hide this fact and instead actively champion neo-liberalism. If sociology as a discipline could become objective in nature (how, I don't know) or at least balanced with a huge influx of right wing thinkers, and there are in fact right wing sociological thinkers - they just aren't allowed in academia - I think it could be quite useful.
Sociology (and the like) departments are job programs for students who weren't great at math and science, but wanted a cushy tenured uni job nonetheless. So they teach crap theory that serves as a vehicle for promoting leftwing politics.
In short, a meme major.
