Now that the desintegration of the EU is a real possibility, I wonder what could become of this country. We're already the poorest country in Western Europe as it is. Our economy is worth next to nothing, socialism is rampant (and the majority of the population is supportive of it) and our former currency is obsolete. Every good thing that was built in the past 30 years has been paid for with EU money: hospitals, schools, highways and other urban developments. University scholarships, R&D, social programs - all financed by the EU in almost their entirety. I feel that if left in our own we will be the Venezuela of Europe in a few decades. Am I overreacting? What do you think, fellow countrymen?

There needs to be an uprising from the people. We need to wake up and see that Europe just simply doesn't work.

It's incredible how Europe has changed people's mentality. A nation with over 800 years, of pioneers and great men and we're dependent on a couple of corrupt globalists in Brussels.

Unfortunately, to be an uprising, there needs to be blood. We can't do another 25 of April.
A man can dream. Hopefully, since history tends to repeat itself, we'll look soon to a better Portugal.

Sure our roads and recent infrastructures were payed by the EU. And that might sound good. But what also happened was the loss of our ability to survive alone.
We were payed to stop cultivating and fishing. We stopped investing in our subsistence. We should start thinking more about producing our own food or we'll be fucked once the world economy crashes.

Post-revolution socialism destroyed our economy, not the EU. If we had followed the same path as other member states with market economies perhaps we would now be in a position to leave and survive for ourselves. Even the 25 of April was forced upon us. It was not about freeing the people. It was about introducing communism/socialism in our country by foreigner powers.
The problem with Portugal is that most of the population has no self esteem and the only thing that really moves them is soccer.
If we were invaded tomorrow by another country we wouldn't really fight back. The times when we used to have a spine are long gone.
>>
>>78559105
>Post-revolution socialism destroyed our economy, not the EU.

Quoted for truth. Interestingly England, France and America fell for the "social democracy" trap in the 70s.

The first two fixed it as soon as they noticed the damage giving workers (actually, unions) full decision power in the destiny of the economy. Based Reagan and Thatcher did what it took to get back control of their economies and it shows.

Now France, France just got a big strike just in time to try to screw the Euro, just like the fags in our public transit companies last year did a strike every other week just to fuck with the people going to work in order to rile them up against the government.

Joke is on then, all it did was to rile people up for privatization.

I agree socialism/communism fucks everything. Another argument for not needing to be in the EU (socialist in its essence) unless we want to lose what's left of our sovereignty. We already lost too much and are hanging by our balls with the multiple bailouts. We need to go back to the basics if we want to survive. We should start by being independent with our food supply. If we don't have that, we're done.

Windfalls are terrible for a country. Not receiving crap from the EU will make people much more demanding of our government and our country less dependent on external help.

If the EU tells our government we have to have more women as CEOs, we do it. (Even tho it's unconstitutional to discriminate based on sex)

If the EU tells us we have to take care of a % of refugees, we do it. (Even tho we don't even have money to pay our debt).

Just some examples. I can spell "loss of sovereignty" again if you want.

We're poor as fuck because based Salazar wasted too much money on killing commies and hunting down niggers instead of providing us with a market economy and laissez-faire capitalism. I mean, I love the man for killing commies, but in the long term his stubbornness for the religious corporate state, on top of all the rampant communism after 1974, fucked us all.

Only way we can get out of this mess is by lowering taxes and having the free market create jobs (and not the government, like O Homem do Caril always talks about), but nope, sorry, we can't do it because we have massive debt and a providence State to support!

We have to somehow lower taxes and expenditure without pissing off the parasites and leeches, otherwise they'll protest.

It may sound contradicting, but once you have taken the ultimate redpill (the one that tells you freedom of speech, assembly and other basic human rights do not apply to people like socialists, communists and other collectivists because their ideias would contradict these rights) you will see. We need a brutal libertarian dictator who will free the markets, hang the commies and helicopter anyone who tries to stop it.

We need our currency heavily devalued to be able to rebuild our economy. We're being propped up by a huge big lie and need to crash. I know it hurts but we can't keep going on like this, there's too much work to be done.

The Constitution needs changing, we must shed a lot of the socialist garbage and our state apparatus and spending needs to be slashed (and I mean truly slashed, not playing around like we've been doing) so we're able to drop taxes and deregulate the economy to attract at least some investment.

Of course we'll never do it until we're at the bottom of the abyss already, too many leftist assholes in Portugal (even most of the right wing is leftist) for it to ever happen before. We'd sooner become Venezuela than Chile, sadly.

Both PSD and CDS are cuckservatives. It's embarrassing to be "decidedly" right-wing in this country. It's like they always tip toe and always try to say how they're the "left of the right" and other shit like that. The socially acceptable range goes from extreme left to soft right, I've observed.

I know it's hard to believe, but the plan is a superstate and we'll just be a province sooner or later if nothing changes dramatically.

If you haven't yet, I suggest you do some research on the Kalergi plan. It might explain some of the things happening right now in Europe.

It's actually what's most likely to happen. Unidos Podemos (IU +PODEMOS) is now the second largest force well ahead of the PSOE, which will have to chose between them or the PP (they will chose UP).

With the new distribution of votes UP and PSOE will be very close to a majority in seats so it is likely that Pablo Iglesias will be the next president of Spain.

I hope the brexit doesn't completely fuck is and we survive it by erasing corruption and its drain of money,

Federalism was always an option supported by some since the beggining. Basically, you have two types of people that support the EU: the eurosceptics (not the same as anti-EU) and the federalists. And federalists have been loosing the battle in the last years.

Desu our core problem is a socialistic Constitution (the intro to the Constitution even says the country ought to be socialist; the 1st Article says the basic unity of the country is its people -- not the individual) combined with laziness, "leave-it-for-tomorrow" attitude and a penchant for the State to "fix it". There is no individual initiative here, we are all controlled by these beasts and Curry Man is the main one.

You mean the asians? The west is going to desintagrate very soon. The analogy with Rome is astounding.

A small community of Romans with Greek influence develops incredibly

>The English, (also French, Portuguese and Spanish) create a huge empire after influence from french and german enlightenment philosophers.

Rome becomes authoritatian and thinking it is undestructible it self destroys in internal conflicts for power.

>British colonies gain independence

After corruption and internalwars, Rome divides and weakens

>World wars happen and Europe self-desroys, losing a long world hegemony

>The Eastern Roman Empire manages to survive the shitstorm but is starting to loose its glory

>The US still remains as a bastion of the English empire but is doomed due to internal corruption and increasing decadence.

The barbarians and arams continuous attacks and betrayales end up destroying Rome completely. A thousand years of Dark Ages start for Europe

Corruption pretty much, we joined the EU under the premise for money. We were told to destroy some of our industries and agriculture to "balance" the EU economy.
We got the money alright, back on the early 90s money flowed into this country like a river but there was no inspections at all so lets say, 70% would go to buy a road, 30% would go to the pockets of the politicians and all involved people.
Then like some people already said, socialism and all the gypsies/niggers who sell counterfeit products but still get their wellfare check by the end of the month.

No sé si me explico.

>They don't hate us. Only the indians. But the point is not listening to the indians anymore. Indians only brings socialism and marxism.

Maybe today due to Indigenismo and all the Socialist/Marxist and their anti-Spanish rhetoric, but the Indians were our most loyal allies during the independence war, the Virreinato del Perú was the most loyal colony while Venezuela/Colombia was the most treacherous. You are probably refering to hispanized "indians" and mestizos. Indians (amerindians) who still hold their native heritage still show today a lot of rights given to them by the Spanish crown when they have to deal with the Mexican government or anybody else messing with their territories and rights.

I totally support the Iberian union and an approachement to Latin America, our true cultural sphere.

>Train a group of people from birth
>Teach them morality, ethics, philosophy, foreign and own's history, economy and military arts.
>Select the best of them and turn them into your leader.
>Select the other top tier students and turn them into their advisors.
>Their children won't be kings. Some other person trained from birth will.
"Kings" rotate every 5-10 years. Council completely changes every 20-40 years.

on a scale of' 0 to 10 how retarded is this idea?

Percebo. Economia.

Are you a ethnic portuguese? Vote PSD or CDS. CDS is as far right as you can go without it becoming a joke. Spit on the face of the stalinists of PCP and steer away from Bloco de Esquerda (sjw's).

Yes they were loyal and we were good to them. We were a pictocracy (the whiter the higher your hierarcical responsability in society). We didn't have IQ test back then but we knew well by common sense what's a natural fucking order.

I support a Salazar-Franco type of regime in Portugal y España and Pinochet kind of regimenes in a Iberian kind of Commonwealth.

He does say that they want to change Europe into something more "fair" and that Brexit is being weaponised against them. That's not bad unless a "fairer" Europe means SJWizing it even more. I think if Podemos focuses on corruption, banks and corporations instead of gibs, immigration or petty social shit they could get reelected.

But then, they could fuck up even more.

Spain is becoming more and more a socialist shithole, it's not like we don't have our problems too, well, we actually had socialist governments for more than 20 years and they always crashed our economy/employement and filled this country with immigrants, but the problem is that the common spaniard is becoming more and more socialistic even when they don't even know what that means, their discourse is just "muh working class rights, muh inequality, muh evil capitalism", that's it, they don't know more, they don't know that actual capitalism helps them to create any kind of private initiative and small business like a pub, a restaurant, a small company of plumbing or whatever which helps the economy and curb the unemployement, while more socialism creates more burden, more taxes more bureaucracy and makes impossible for anybody to do anything by themselves, while strangling the economy. This rhetoric that "capitalism" is something bad, terrible, imperialistic, has simply won in Spain, the marxists have won the political discourse.

It does. Also opening the frontiers to North Africans. I mean dude, look at the Cities that are trying to take in more refugees and from which party do they come...

They HATE Spain. PPSOEC's dislikes our country, but Podemos fucking hate it because they have severe butthurt since 1939 with our Country.

Spain has been a socialist shithole since, at the very least, Suarez lost.

Our right wing isn't even close to the actual Right Wing in any other country in the world...it is in the LEFT of fucking Obama for crying out of loud...
>>
Fuck what other people think of us, fuck the EU...

What we need is to get rid of all the gibsmedat commie marxist shits that think socialism in in ANY WAY helping this country, drag to the street and execute every thieving motherfucker (cough Socrates) and their buddies, and finally when we get back up stop and ban every connection we have with the ex colonies.

They didn't want to stay under our rule? Great, not one more person coin or aid will get to them, let them enjoy their independence.

My plan is simple and yet profitable. Put a fence around Portugal and dress the natives in rough looking animal hide costumes and presto!

You will have a caveman themed tourist attraction. the Portagee are naturals and will need no training or makeup to pull this off.
