Let them vote on it on a county by county basis. Any of the six counties that votes to join the Republic can go
>>
>>78545388
Not actually a bad idea.
>>
>>78544455
Wanting to be in the EU does not equal wanting a united Ireland.

>Northern Ireland Secretary Theresa Villiers has ruled out Sinn Féin's call for a border poll on the reunification of Ireland.

>She was speaking after the UK voted by a narrow margin to leave the EU., although Northern Ireland voted to remain.

>Ms Villiers said the circumstances in which a border poll would be called did not exist.

>Nothing indicated that such a poll should be called, she said.

It ain't happening any time soon.

>implying NI will leave the UK
>implying scotland won't be shitting bricks over the fact that they want to leave the UK

Leader of the Scottish conserv party - ""But I do not believe that a second independence referendum will help us achieve that stability nor that it is in the best interests of the people of Scotland. "

Scotland won't leave, the frog faced looking bitch is only pushing her best for another Scotland OUT referendum because she wants a higher position
>>
>>78545806
Since the Secretary of State is the one who has the ability to call the referendum, yes she does on this matter. If she doesn't see reason to hold one, which she doesn't, it isn't happening.

fuck lads what do we do? are we going to see a bunch of (((english))) immigrants migrating over here for better prospects?

our exports are fucked, our oil prices are going up, there's probably a border going up

it's a half hearted victory when I can't comfortably laugh at the jews and the eu elite

pretty funny considering the EU is now gonna collapse as each country leaves one after the other.....
>>
Northern Ireland here, voted leave. All those in unionist areas I've spoken to have said they will vote to stay part of the UK even if they wanted to remain in the EU.

This is great news, brother.
>>
>>78546156
That's just unionists though. They're extremely stubborn on the UK thing. Their numbers didn't mean much last night. Might not make the difference in a referendum on this either.

Correct.
>>
>>78545625

Hell, we don't even want to be in the EU. They kept beating us over the head with the Lisbon Treaty until we accepted it. Any kind of serious referendum here would lead to an Irexit.

This was never part of the deal.. and so close to the 12th.

Even Star Trek didn't put Irish unification until the 2030s.

no

56% wanting to remain in the EU will not equate to 56% wanting to join the republic

I'm not convinced there is a link but I don't see it as totally impossible. At least some previously pro UK people will change sides over this. Maybe not enough to sway the vote but some.
>>
>>78548316
It's totally different voting remain was the logical choice for a country that relies so much on EU funding. Lots of Unionists voted remain because of the threats from Bombardier etc.

They won't vote for a United Ireland.

What's the flag on the right of Scotland? Only thing I can find it Cornwall but I don't know enough about Bong history to know any relevance to that.

and equally there could be some republican anti-EU people who could change their vote over this

stop using the eu as a backdoor to your united iron

the majority of people want nothing to do with Ireland, just want to be part of the eu

there was a fucking war man thousands died, are we not over this fantasy?

Implying most potaotes on here were even alive during the troubles. Why do you think young people cry hardest for united ireland? they never experienced the huge loss of life that would likely return.

Cornwall, its a county in England with nothing but farmers, fisherman and surfers, it was once its own country about 800 years ago. They only have a very small minority of people who want an independent Cornwall but most people are simply proud of their county and its culture.

If you're ever in Britain I recommend you go there If you like nice countryside and friendly people.

Northern Irish are the most miserable people in the Union. They're basically Scots with car bombs. No one wants them.
>>

>>78551403
>miserable
Not at all. Until now most people here had no problem with England. The past is the past and support for the UK has been strong in recent years. Even this might not change that. Scotland is definitely the baby of the Union.
>>
