If you are not a liberal at 20, you have no heart. If you are not a conservative at 30 you're a dumb cunt.
>>
>>78533007
It's the same as when they voted to have Trump banned. They got like 200 000 signatures and the parliament was forced to discuss it. They had a 15 minute 'debate' where they jokingly pointed out the absurdity of banning him then took leave.

Same thing will happen here. Parliament voting to impose a 2nd referendum is virtually inconceivable. Not only because I actually believe that parliament will respect the popular vote, but also because the conservatives control the parliament and the PM (and they were 2/3s Leave), and this vote will most likely see the Conservatives surge in the polls and reaffirm their position + they have Boris coming up as PM now, so they would never vote to allow a 2nd referendum.

Yeah but at this point not going with the democratic determination by the people would basically rip down the last curtain between the people and the man operating the giant wizard hologram and it'd be a fucking soccer hooligan riot across all of UK. People in Europe have already been utterly disillusioned with their leaders by things like the Cologne rape cover-ups and no matter how much damage control comes out now it's not going to fix it. The Brexit vote win shows the changing tides where in only the last couple weeks polls turned around as more people became aware of the issues.

Not leaving the EU now would be possibly the biggest shitstorm in Europe since Hitler kicked in Poland's front door.

B) EU or someone else challenges the UK leaving and stops it. Majority of UK citizens are told point blank that their opinions and wants do not matter. Can't imagine that going over well.

The referendum was non-binding and only stipulated the withdrawal from the EU, not withdrawal from the EEC. The EEC is nearly the exact same thing with free movement of people and everything. I can guarantee you that the UK will merely go from EU to EEC because that technically satisfies the referendum result.

That's a classic EU tactic. If they vote wrong, just keep staging referendums until they make the right choice

I doubt average 70-year old has any more well-thought opinions on EU membership than a 20-year old. Changes this big are so rare and large that it's difficult to really gain experience about them and/or tell what's to come. The biggest single difference between age groups would probably be that old folks had time to experience pre-EU UK. Even then I doubt most people had their lives changed so dramatically that it'd justify feeling like you absolutely have to get out of EU. It's most likely just old people craving for their nostalgic green hills and hobbit holes they think they used to have before the evil EU happened.
