>yfy you realize that revised drug laws (nationwide legalization of marijuana, better rehab programs for addicts and less strict sentences for minor offenses) can kill half a dozen birds with one stone:
>gut the drug cartel's profits so they loose their stranglehold of Mexico and thus their ability to wage terror and thus fewer people would seek to flee over the border to America
>U.S private prison contractors get their profits gutted as well and it would kekworthy to watch them whine like bitches while spinning something like ("SCORES LESS PEOPLE BEING ARRESTED FOR INNOCUOUS SHIT THE BIGGEST TRAGEDY EVER TO HIT AMERICA")
>improved rehab programs and decreased persecution from police on drug users causes street crime to plummet and thus the liberal gun-grabbers loose their edge on the media and their whining rights
>DHS no longer has to spend millions on boarder patrol, and federal funding used to track down and arrest addicts can be put to more productive use like fixing infrastructure that's fucking rotting into the ground, or maybe the education system that shovels excrement straight into your child's brain
>put a tax on any drugs that are legalized as a fair anti-incentive and to raise even more money that can be put to fucking important use
Don't get me wrong, I hate stoners and crackheads, but god damn, the system is broken in all the right ways just to benefit the bloated justice system that makes its own cash cow off of not only the criminal population but millions of minor offenders. What the fuck was Nixon smoking when he started the war on drugs (no pun intended)? Have we learned nothing from prohibition in the 1930's?
