What will happen when automation starts pushing out fast food cooks, cashiers, truckers, and taxi drivers?

I mean look at this shit. A machine makes a better looking burger than any I have ever seen at any fast food restaurant/burger joint. The machines are coming for our jobs, what's going to happen afterwards though?

Revolts in the streets? Basic income? A culling of the herd?
>>
Sorry, but I prefer my burger without motor oil, thank you very much.
>>
It's not even close to happening lots of places have real wages way higher than the US and they never got the machines

Well ask yourself this: how will most of humanity operate in a society run by automation?

Will the typical 9 - 5 still exist? Will cultural norms change? Large (and potentially disastrous) changes will happen thanks to automation.

They will become slaves to the people who saved money on cheap food.

Make no jokes about it: the upper/middle classes will be able to afford house servants in no time at all, and it looks like there will be quite a large pool to choose from.

One wonders how desperate to "perform" some of these serfs will be.

MSME: Robotics & Automation here

If you have a low-skill job, you won't in 5 years... especially if the left has their way and make human labor more expensive (min wage etc)

Start teaching yourself a skill like how to work with robots or how to repair robots.
>>
Some kind of techno socialism is inevitable. People "earning" billions without even being "job creators" will push people over the edge. On the flip side capitalism can't survive without mass consumption which requires that the populace is employed.

No,

Only retards who have no reputable skills will be forced to do something useful for society and/or become educated. Anyone who works in the fast food industry is a burden on society and should be replaced with robots or else they will think they are actually doing something worth being paid for.

I don't think you understand how real automation works, anon.

It's not that they can do your job better than you, it's that they can do _everything_ better than you. You can't just upskill, because it's not your skills that are the problem. It's you. You yourself, inherently, are an inferior design.

In Britanistan, they've started a trial of something called Universal Credit: if you're out of work, you get a basic allowance to cover your housing cost each month and a little bit more for you to live on (me personally, I get 600 p.m; 300 goes to my rent, 100 to my council tax then I have 200 to live on {subsistence}).

In the future
>automation goes into full swing
>heaps of people lose their min. wage jobs = more people claiming UC
>production cost of pretty much everything drops (dunno exactly what production/retail is, but I'm *pretty sure* there's a disparity)
>retail cost stays pretty much the same
>people on Universal Credit still buy things (as they have needs and wants), therefore there's still money going to businesses and the gov (VAT)
>self-sustaining system? (at least for the unskilled worker population percentage that have been replaced by machines)

It doesn't matter if they have no reputable skills you euphoric autistic cuck, our race needs a population. And without work people will not be motivated to populate.

What worked for those in the past doesn't work for us now, and what works for us now probably won't work in the future. But it must be noted that economies that have worked have all be similar in that they are usually right-wing economies. Feudalism in the middle ages, mercantilism during the age of discovery, capitalism during the industrial era.
As the industrial era draws to a close and we enter post-industrial society, archaic and obscure economic forms such as Distributism may become more popular, or forms similar to Fascism may be revived. Personally I think Distributism may be the next step because it is a right-wing economy allows for industries to be run by larger groups (families, communities, cities etc.) who can distribute profits that they make from automated manufacturing as they see fit.
Regardless of which economic form you prefer, we should seek to maintain the human aspect in economy when automation becomes the standard without turning to Marxist bullshit like Standard Basic Income.

Farming and factory assembly are low-skill occupations though. That wasn't a huge transition.

The problem here is that the service industry is really the only low-skill profession left now. Everything else requires at least 2 years of schooling or umpteen years experience that the average 18-25 year old will not have.

Violence followed by the actual real Marxist revolution.

Marx always knew that a capitalist society had to be bloated to the point of excess for everyone to evolve.

This is why every communist state has failed as they attempt to push from a feudal to a socialist overnight.

When automation and robots can provide for everyone than money loses its value.

It's probably already happening

I can draw up a robot burger, most of it is cooking the meat, the rest are literally just toppings and they aren't even cooked like pizza toppings are

Pizza machines are harder, it's all in the dough and as any Baker will tell you, dough can go to alot of different places.

But, you can probably just buy a recipe off another restaurant or chef and that solves that problem, but now you have the kneading, and dealing protein requires a lot of mechanical force, exponentially more if done in bulk, which is why you see MAMA MIA PIZZA PIE twirling in the air. It also prevents soaking of a sitting burger patty into a bun whilst a steak or other more time-intensive item is prepared. A bed of lettuce cups the grease, whilst buns eat that shit and die.

imagine when humanity is all gone there will be robots making burgers and robots pretending to eat the burgers as some sort of profane monument to human history

aliens will visit our planet and be like "too bad those humans all died out, they made some good burgerbots" and it'll be seen on a galactic version of diners drive-ins and dives by Giuy Fieriexus XVI

Ideally, companies would not be valued higher than the work force. Corporations have somehow accrued legal rights as persons in the states and I don't have a clue how that happened. Automating jobs that can easily be staffed by US citizens SHOULD be a crime by definition. In an ideal democratic system, the people vote for what is best for their own self interest. Being broke and homeless is not in their best interest. The work force, having equal voting rights as their employer, should have many multitudes higher voting power considering they are the greater number. Unfortunately, this is shown to be false as laws in the USA favor companies 10/10 times.

The decision of automated jobs in this case should be on the larger voting population. Odds are they would favor dangerous jobs being automated as it eliminates them from the market and most likely creates safer jobs in the process to operate this machinery. Robots flipping burgers on the other hand is absolutely outrageous. I don't know why Americans tolerate this. Jobs sent over seas, the rich avoid taxes while the poor are sucked dry from them. It's a despicable system, and I can see why the Nazi regime found this sort of activity to be the highest form of treason

...that's "better" because it has decent ingredients. A human is perfectly capable of cutting you a decent slice of tomato ect. They just don't do it because companies keep costs as low as possible so they're told not to. That machine will make shitty squashed squishy little burgers when it's operated by the same people who make squashed squishy little burgers now.

Also, stop eating at franchises. I've had far superior burgers at many places in your country.

Well, a lot of jobs require driving skill, a lot of people die here due to accidents (highest number of deaths in the E.U.), so yes, I want a self-driving car for all of us. Only a computer glitch or a virus would put our lives in danger, but you must have the option to switch to manual drive..

There's no competition there. Shitskins are too stupid to into machinery, so those devices are purely for the use of the white man to beat women into abject sexual submission.

As a McDonalds drive-through worker, I can say with confidence that there is a 0% chance of my job being automated for at least 20 years, if not longer. The "obvious" solutions of some type of touchscreen or some type of "order ahead" via an app or call would never catch on with our customers.

Dunno about the kitchen staff though.

Japan does fast food correct and best.

Their 7/11's and Lawsons have factories all over japan where REAL people cook and make food and it employs lots of people. Non stop cooking meals around the clock, fresh food being unloaded to the shops every hour. It's impressive as fuck.

The US needs to do that. Turn McDonald's into that kind of system, where you have factories of people making big macs all day to load up the shop every hour.

But, they would need to make them healthier.

When I was in Japan I was astonished at this. They had vending machines everywhere, untouched, not even scratches on them.

Even in Australia those things would at least have grafitti on them. Japan are like inverse degenerate over there.

>Sorry, but I prefer my burger without motor oil, thank you very much.

not what they use, Chewie.

i researched the grease used to repack my Cuisinart hand blender when it got noisy, and turns out it's just petroleum jelly, or vaseline. you probably get more from lip balm than you'll ever get from one of these machines.

>We don't need to worry about this robot singularity fantasy for generations.

Don't speak to soon, the baby boomers were convinced that all the problems we're dealing with today wouldn't happen for 100's of years... and look at what a huge fucking mess that attitude created.

People like you are the real reason why human civilization will end.
