I made a thread about this earlier. I get the notion that the tide is turning. Maybe I am wrong, but if you compare now and six months ago, I see differences and I see that nationalism truly is on the rise.
In talkshows, more people who are openly against the current policies are invited. People voice their opinion now and it becomes more acceptable to oppose the general leftist agenda.
I study history and teaching, so 90% of the people around me and in my classes are bluepilled refugee-welcome tards, but even here I can sense a change of mind. I went to a discussion at my uni lately, and what was usually just a liberal leftist circlejerk was a genuine exchange of opinions this time, admittedly with both sides not equally strong, but the opposers are gaining ground.
Even my gf who is a feminist (and no, not a tumblr tier feminist, before anyone yells cuck) is starting to get more and more redpilled. For example, we went to a concert together and there was a homo-rainbow-flag displayed above the entrance. She literally said "gee, what the fuck is that flag doing here, is there a special day for the gays again" while shaking her head.
Also, the AFD is gaining votes.

Germany nearly subdued Britain with submarines. The island had food left for 1-6 weeks at one point. France couldn´t do much either, just a stalemate and russia was already gone. It was the US through JP Morgan mostly, that greatly supported France and Britain from the beginning. It wasn´t that germany was weak, they nearly won (and shouldn´t have offered peace in 1916, they should have starved britain). It was just that the others got more support from the US which gave them the edge (just like in WW2).

Seeing what all the other "countries", rather their politicians and industrialists did..... I don´t think Wilhelm II is to blame for that. He shouldn´t have given full support to austria-hungary imo but regarding the rest... I can´t see how to blame him.

He kicked out his most experienced advisor and the one man all of germany loved and respected.

I agree. But I also believe that if Wilhelm II. had choosen a more military focused start to his reign, germany could have managed to end the war on a less one-sided note.
There were many many things that led to everything after 1918, but I can't help but think that if he had sought out an alliance of sorts with the UK, there wouldn't have been as many problems with france, especially the Treaty of Versailles.
Some of his bad public image can of course be explained because of his unfortunate role as the last Kaiser and the one who lost the war that led to the Third Reich. He just wasn't ready for all that.
In the end, it's history and we can't change it, only learn from it.

The Freiburg University is good if you want to go into medicine or computer science.
I've been working in Freiburg for the last 3 years so I can give you a quick summary of the city.
Freiburg has a very nice city center and some beautiful Villenviertel (Basically areas with 1 or more family houses). It was relatively untouched from the war so a lot of historical buildings are still standing, particularly the Münster is well worth a visit. It's close to the french border and Straßburg if you would ever want to visit there. It is also at the foot of the Schwarzwald where you can hike and, during winter, ski.
Freiburg is one of the most expensive cities to rent in in germany. Public transportation is good and afaik free if you are a student, so owning a car is not necessary. My personal typ would be to go to the market that's near the Münster every tuesday thursday and saturday to buy fresh produce from farms in the area.
Now the reason I didn't think you would want to go there is the political climate. Most of the students are green party affiliated and you can sort of imagine how they are from there. There is streets in the inner city which basically belong to the alternative punk scene and there is a huge influx of vegetarian and vegan culture.
We had an intern once who had just finished a masters in sociology with a focus on gender studies in Freiburg. She was a nice person but as soon as you aproached a topic bordering anywhere close to the political she would go off and most of my contact with students here has been similiar. STEM and Medicine have their own campus each, so you would be able to escape the insane humanities students at least for a bit.

About health insurance, you can't study at a german university if you don't have insurance but you should be able to get it fairly easily. Each university has their own student organization called the Studentenwerk where they will help you with things such as this. In general I think you should get away with paying something around 50€ a month as a student (correct me if I am wrong here). Once you start working in a job with enough hours that it's sozialversicherungspflichtig (don't know a good english word at the moment), a certain percentage of your wage is automatically paid to your insurance provider each month, as well as to public unemployment and retirement funds.
