Is this a bad argument, /pol/?

>captcha: 2016
>>
this is a great argument for deregulating cars.
>>
>>77417888
Cars kill a lot more people than guns do, though.
>>
>>77417841
Guns are more important than cars.
>>
>>77417841
Why did they make two separate columns the that say the exact same thing?
>>
>>77417841
Too bad driving isn't a right guaranteed in the constitution.
>>
>>77417841
Remember horse and sword control back in the 1200's?

Neither do I.
>>
>>77417841
I love the part of the 2nd ammendment where they talk about cars
>>
It's all clear now...
We need to ban cars too!
>>
>>77417841
>Not posting the number of deaths compared to guns.
The only thing this proves is that if guns were as regulated as cars then more people would die based on its own stupid logic.
>>
>>77418048
>>77418161
Why are constitutionalists so impossible to talk to? You're like militant religious zealots. No matter what happens or what anyone says, you can only counter with "muh constitution" or "muh amendments".
And before you attack me, know that I'm not taking a stance that agrees or disagrees with either you or the op, I'm just wondering why you can't reasonably defend your view point without pointing at your holy text.

Actually, right to travel is guaranteed. "Gun's" aren't specifically permitted in the constitution, it's "right to bear arms".
>>
>>77417841
I think we are too restrictive on vehicles though. It's fucking bullshit.
>>
>>77418755
Because that paper is the rules that our government must follow if you don't like it get your senator to try and ratified but good luck
>>
It's only bad argument because I bet if cars were around in the 1780s and they were important to everyday life as they are now the guys who wrote the constitution probably would have made them a protected right.
>>
>>77420136
So do I.
>>
>>77418755
Because any leader who wants to violate a countries constitution should be sentenced to death for treason.
If you want to have those laws go somewhere else that doesn't have the right to bear arms. Like Canada.
>>
>>77418755
Because it's the only thing that protects us from faggots like you that want to take away our freedoms. I have the right to bear arms. Use them arms to protect myself from all enemies foreign and domestic.

If you don't want the protection of the Constitution, get out.
>>
>>77417841
It's a good thing that heavily regulated car ownership has actually removed the threat of assault car incidents.

Wait, shit, more people are dying in car accidents than guns every year. When are we going to start banning cars?
>>
>>77417841
Those are only the restrictions for driving in public. In many states you need those same restrictions to carry a gun in public.
>>
> IF CARS WERE REGULATED LIKE GUNS

"Long distance commutes being necessary for the modern economy, the right of the people to keep and operate cars shall not be infringed"
>>
>>77420308
Travel doesn't require cars.

arms
noun
weapons; armaments.

Arms is a broader term, you have the right to guns, to cannons, to swords.
>>
>>77417841
Nobody prevents me from buying a Ferrari or other fast car, why can't I buy a machine gun?
>>
>>77420308

Nigga, that is soverein citizen talk. I am not even american and know that the "right to travel" means you arent supposed to be bound to some place, like forced by someone (that is not the government, they can arrest you) to stay by force.

If you are traveling on car or by foot, that is totally up for the actual laws
>>
>>77417841
>Is this a bad argument, /pol/?

If those were the only regulations then I'd be able to acquire and possess my guns without a license as long as I only used them on private property.

You don't need a license to own a car. You need a license to drive on public roads.
>>
>>77420775
Wouldn't it be vehicles instead of cars?

Coming as someone who also think constitutionalists are faggots, I really do think it's necessary to keep the population armed. The threat of tyranny is still very real, and seeing the shit that passes over in Europe is hilarious. You can guarantee no one's going to go to jail just for sharing extreme opinions with the threat of armed retaliation from the same people that regurgitate that old mantra "muh constitutional rights" with that beautiful guaranteed American brand free speech.
>>
>>77417841
"A well regulated NASCAR, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Cars, shall not be infringed."
>>
>>77420851
That's my point, it's a broad term.
I can arm myself with a sword instead of a gun.
I can travel on a bicycle instead of a car.

We would be pissed if they banned the use of cars.
>>
>>77417841
I wish bicycles where as regulated as cars. Can we start pushing that instead?

Will you pay the premium in taxes to place an armed police officer outside of my wharehouse???

I have a truck yard in Atlanta GA... I can't go home at night without unhooking the batteries from all 5 of my rigs... I was threatened twice by fuckin niggers at knife-point closing and leaving.

The police can't be here every night to escort me home.

That's why I pack... And I have brandished my weapon to keep these animals away.

Will you and every American pay the premium to put armed professional/government controlled security outside of my wharehouse every night?

And if you are willing, will you bitch every time that security official shoots a nigger?

It's not a bad idea to seek out some kind of liability insurance regarding the possibility of self defense. There are some insane stories of innocent homeowners being sued by an intruder or family of an intruder who was wounded or killed during a home invasion. I'm not sure if liability insurance exists for such a scenario but there are defense lawyers who deal in cases of justifiable use of deadly force.

Already, the fifth, tenth, first, and second amendments have all come under attack. Possibly more I'm not aware of. And ALL have been in the name of "modern jurisprudence." if all that shit falls trough they need to allow open carry and remove no gun zones.
>>
>>77423689
Not really. Metal working is a skill and if your village doesn't have someone with that skill you're out of luck.

Medieval monarchies did their best to disarm citizens. In fact there were laws in major population centers that you could not carry swords over a certain size.

Of course if any retard thinks this is a PRO gun control argument they're dead wrong. The reason weapons even before firearms were regulated was so that control could be exercised effectively over the population. The fact we allow the citizenry to own the same weaponry found in the military is an indication of our enlightenment.
>>
>>77425531
You're arguing as if my argument is based on the belief that the Constitution is holy writ. Your statement does not invalidate my argument.

There is a reason we have come to know them as The Bill of Rights. They secure the people's ability to demand further amendments. They secure the people's ability to control their government and not be unjustly handled at the hands of the law.

You can believe that governments will continue to behave appropriately all nice like because "why would Obama ever hurt me for no reason? You're crazy xD" but the day will come when the populace needs to be armed. And you and your milquetoast arguments alongside other terrified over-emotional non-thinkers are doing your best to ensure that the citizenry do not come out on to that day.

2nd amendment>1st amendment>4th amendment

If you have guns that means you can defend your right to tell people that the police illegally searched your property.

If you don't have 1st amendment rights your 4th amendment rights are irrelevant as the government can legally just censor your complaints and no one will ever know that your 4th amendment rights were violated in the first place, essentially nullifying them.

If you don't have 2nd amendment rights an angry mob can threaten to murder you and anyone that tells your story, essentially nullifying your 1st amendment rights.

Only idiots think the erosion of the 4th amendment is a more pressing concern than the 2nd.

i just don't fucking understand america's obsessions with guns

korea has almost non-existent gun related crimes because you can't get a gun here. the only time gun related crimes happen are when people legally have guns, like when korean men go to the military, or cops go batshit crazy

personally i feel uncomfortable as fuck anytime around a gun, even a cop; being around a device and knowing its only purpose is to kill another human is uncomfortable for me, even if i'm the owner of it

i really don't understand america's pro-gun argument.. you think the government is trying to de-arm you so they can fuck you in the ass?

lol, bro, do you think your ar-15 is going to do anything against the government's bombs/nukes/tanks/multi billion-dollar vehicles?

and having a gun in your home 'for self-defence' is equally dumb.

I like how they leave out that you can legally drive at 16, that your licence allows you to drive in all 50 States, that traffic regulations are standardized across all 50 States and that a license allows you to drive wide variety of vehicles from tiny compact cars to extremely powerful sports cars to massive pickup trucks capable of hauling over a ton. And additional licences allow the operation of heavy wheeled vehicles like semi tractor trailers, which would be analogous to heavy weapons.

Yes of course. For some kind of cars, you can't even get a license plate or drivers license that has any relevance to it, because you can only use it, or even park it, on private property (in the USA)

you're not uncomfortable around guns because your iq is significantly lower than mine

anyone with an iq over 100 gets at least (VERY) slightly nervous doing any slightly dangerous activities, even driving

basically you're admitting you know this device will be used to kill you/someone else ('a bad person') and you feel no uncomfort around it

> If you don't want the protection of the Constitution, get out.

Or he can try to amend the constitution. So many gun control advocates actually believe that the 2nd amendment should be abolished, but instead of trying to follow the rules of the system and amend the constitution, they look for underhanded ways to take away constitutionally guaranteed rights.

Constitutionalism isn't about people going "muh constitution" - it's about protecting America's democratic system. Rights can be added or taken away by amending the constitution - but the system was designed in a way to make amending far more difficult than simply passing a new law. That way, Congress or the president can't easily take away rights.

>you can only counter with "muh constitution" or "muh amendments".

Whelp, I'm triggered.

Tell you what, let's do a mental exercise. You give me the full list of powers you want to give to Obama or Sanders or whoever else. Assume they have a Democratic Congress, and it's not an election year so they're not worried about campaigning. Assume two more SCOTUS conservatives die and get replaced by liberals.

To be clear: I'm not asking what laws or measures you want passed like single-payer healthcare or a gun ban or whatever. I'm asking what powers you want them to have. Search your home for guns without a warrant? Search people on the street? Seize property from the rich? Silence hate speech? Tear apart State and local infrastructure to install green power and public transportation? Mandatory diversity training? Go crazy, the world is your oyster.

Got your list?

Great. Now all that power is in the hands of Trump and a white separatist Congress with a conservative SCOTUS. He builds the wall, deports all brown people, silences social justice speech, and closes off international trade. Then you'll be crying "muh constitution" all the way to mandatory Austrian Economics class.

It's not a fucking difficult concept. Different people want to live in different ways. We have a government that's supposed to do the bare minimum so that it can enable different people to continue living in different ways. Go fuck up California with stupid state laws, leave us red state people alone.
