Hi.

Just wanted to let you know, the Abrahamic Religions all share the same God.

When you pray to "God," you are praying for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Even individual saints like your Jesus Christos is still recognized in the other Abrahamic Faiths.

Friendly reminder, when you inspire anyone to follow Abrahamic Faiths you also allow Islam to continue to prosper and destroy Hinduism, Buddhism, and actual religions that don't base their beliefs on slaughtering people.

Maybe you have, you just weren't cognizant of it. Mosquito feeds the spider so the spider doesn't bite you.

An example of our parasitic relationship with the planet, a large majority of our food sources only exists because of bees. Not God or Man.

The further we distance ourselves from our relationship with the planet, the more we lose ourselves.

Once after I wake up, once before sleeping, usually before eating and whenever I see fit/feel the need to.
I don't want it to be just a habit, so I pray whenever I need to talk to someone and have no one around or feel that I need help.
I do have the morning-evening-food-habit though to make sure that I pray at least a few times a day, even when I don't feel like I need anything.

>>77398386

>>
>>77399497
Rubbish. The differences are obvious, and fatal.

And they're all about Jesus.

To the Jew: Jesus is a false messiah, a man.
To the Muslim: Jesus is just a man, a prophet, called a messiah or leader, but who is not God, or the Son of God.
To the Christian: Jesus is God.

And per Jesus, if you do not have the Son, you do not have the Father; and if you do have the Son, you also have the Father, as He and the Father are One.

So neither Jew nor Muslim has a god, at all. They might not know they're godless, but they're godless.

And most muslims worship Ba'al, aka Hubal, aka Allah, quite eagerly.

>But he never talks to you back.
He does though..

>>77400002

He died so that you would examine the effects of bigotry, and see that love and appreciation can still fall victim to the same hatred (though they can never be snuffed entirely).

Too many Christians assume the mere acknowledgement that Jesus died for them is to save them from their sins. It's deeper than that.

He died so that you would see your sins, not so that you're instantly "saved" from them, that's an injection by the Catholic church.

I used to pray as a kid but all it was was just saying meaningless words learned by heart. At some point I started getting away from the idea of religion as my knowledge and skepticism grew larger each day and so I stopped praying that way.

I think a lot when I lay down after a day though. It's a bunch of retrospective and introspective thoughts. I tend to organize my mind this way and I don't need a god/God in order to meditate.

>>
>>77400248
I have nothing to do with, and nothing but antipathy towards, the Catholic church.

The bible is quite clear that Jesus fulfilled the Law; that He not only followed it perfectly and was sinless, but also sacrificed Himself on humanity's behalf and paid all of the punishments for all of the sins ever created by man.

Your sins were forgiven you before you were born.

Now all you have to do is believe in Jesus; that He is Who He says He is, that He rose from the dead on the third day, as He prophesied, and you're golden.

Da mihi, Deus meus, cor meum ad te dirigere et in defectione mea cum emendationis proposito contanter dolere.

Fac me, Domine Deus meus, obedientem sine contradictione, pauperem sine dejectione, castum sine corruptione, patientem sine murmuratione, humilem sine fictione, hilarem sine dissolutione, maturum sine gravedine, agilem sine levitate, timentem te sine desoeratione, veracem sine duplicitate, operantem bona sine praesumptione,Largire mihi, Domine Deus meus, intellectum te cognoscentem, sapientiam te invenientem, conversationem tibi placentem, preseverantiam fidenter te expectantem, et fiduciam te finaliter amplectentem.

Da tuis poenis hic affligi per poententiam, tuis beneficiis in via uti per gratiam, tuis gaudiis in patria perfrui per gloriam.

Usually after waking and before sleeping. But I also pray when I go about my daily routine.
I often just go to my church to pray. It's very peaceful. Pic is inside. It's very old; almost 1000 years.

Watching my kids grow up, having the warmth of my wife, nurturing my garden and seeing it grow, listening to birdsong in the morning. And so on. All make me give praise to God.

I attended a catholic school and when the teachers would tell us about how they ,,found God'' I saw a pattern going on:

1. Be miserable
2. Turn to God for help
3. No help received
4. Have something bad happen to you
5. Turn to God for help again
6. Get out of the bad situation
7. ,,GOD SAVED ME. HOW GREAT! I'M GOING TO DEVOTE MY WHOLE LIFE TO HIM NOW! I'M SPECIAL BECAUSE I'M ALIVE AND I COULD BE DEAD.''
8. Commence blind faith based on the occurence of random bad events and gratitude towards a positive outcome of said events

Of course that's not the only reason people turn to God but I've found myself seeing most religious people be religious because of what I explained in points.

There's always the ,,ignorance is bliss'' aspect. I've got a buddy who's studying biology who became a die-hard fan of Jesus quite lately. He's trying to convince me of intelligent design whenever he gets a chance. Him being the one that STUDIES BIOLOGY. He's got no arguments other than ,,it's so complex that if God didn't make it then who did?''. He literally justifies his lack of comprehension with faith and finds the answer ,,God did it'' satisfying.

I pray about three times a day.

Also I hate all revealed religions. Humanity has some sort of mental block where people realise that God exists and then suddenly want to join a specific religion.

The part of revealed religion that DOESN'T add up is the revelation part. You can have a personal relationship with God, and know what you ought to do. Revelation is not needed, and it never happened.

Focus on walking with God every day; focus on knowing Jesus more every day; take your focus off of joining a group of people who may or may not be saved.

If the Holy Spirit wants you in a church, He will lead you there. Learn how He leads. It's very light. It's very gentle. It's easily resisted.

You have more power over your brain than you give yourself credit.

You are able to put yourself into the moods you want to be in, but only if you truly believe yourself capable.

It sounds hippy dippy, but you have to be the change you want. It is definitely not an easy thing to change, though. The comfortable thing is to continue the path you know, regardless of how (often subconsciously) destructive it is.

The hard part is taking responsibility and loving yourself. Truly loving yourself, for ALL your faults and triumphs, not letting one overshadow the other.

Everyone has this struggle with balance (though generally not consciously), you aren't alone.

>When you pray to "God," you are praying for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
No, there is no 'abrahamic' religion other than Judaism because they are under the abrahamic covenant, the land of Israel. Christians do worship the God of Israel and his son Jesus.

Islam worship something else (baal, allah, etc.) and certainly do not respect what God said about the jews.

Its meditating. Its so that you can clear your head to start the day (I hate remembering my dreams) and then clear it of all the stuff from the day at the end. The sky wizard part is nice and all, but not required, at least in reform Judaism. Its more like its in Hebrew and everyone knows the words and a certain tune to it, but its in another language so it seems mystical even if the meaning is fairly banal. Sh'ma, the main basic prayer is just saying God is great, and there's only one of them.

That's the creation of the universe, I already said that. God contacts all of us in our own minds, he doesn't need another method.

All of history is reconstructed. Obviously sometimes, the "best" explanation for the "facts" we have is supernatural. You would expect that to happen sometimes, just because of the random nature of evidence distortion and survival.

Before you even start doing history, you need ground rules. My ground rule is that the laws of physics didn't used to be different.

There are no "laws" of physics, merely interpretations that change depending on the scale and dimensions occupied.

We've already broken the law of conservation of momentum, as well as produce lasers that exceed the speed of light, self-levitating reactionless thrusters, etc.

Nothing in this universe is one size fits all, not even time or motion.

God tells me all sorts of things, but he's never told me that I'm wrong about Jesus.

I have a strong personal relationship with God, and as far as I can tell, Christians are pretty much correct with their prescription for how to think about life. But the miracles are
the weak point.

>>77403592
I mean that currently, as far as I can tell, the laws of physics are never interfered with by outside forces, with the possible exception of human brains. So I just have to carry that baggage with me when I do history.

You can't do history without assumptions about what's possible. You can't even do history about yesterday without assumptions.

Over 99% of the time, what God tells me is what I ought to be doing instead of what I currently am doing. It's just an endless stream of "oughts" that I fail to live up to.

He also lets me know that I can start again whenever I like. I can feel that he loves me.

I pray when I really really need some help

I still can't commit to religion fully, so I usually throw my thoughts out there for whoever to hear. Everytime a prayer is answered I gain a little bit of faith, but equally I have been let down by prayer too.

Don't push anything on them.
Show a good example, engage them in activities that harbour life: looking after a pet, growing plants etc.

My kids don't attend the same church as me. They go to the Methodist church in our town, as it is less traditional than my church.
But they follow Christ. There are loads of activities for them organised through the church. My eldest daughter is 17 and does voluntary work in a home for old people. My son is younger; he's eight and is involved in conservation work with me. We clear out ponds and lakes that have been polluted, fix dry stone walls, (pic related)

Teaching prayer is complicated. Praying is a link to God. I personally read my kids passages from the Holy Bible. Just a little at a time.

>Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

From Matthew 11
