It's hardly that big of a deal for our economy. Most of the money these people get in Finland just goes back into the system. I doubt they hurt our economy in the longer term either, but they will change what this country is. This country was supposed to be the homeland of a fairly homogenous population. There used to be the understanding that if Finns don't look after the interests of Finns, no one else will either and we'll be under the thumb of foreign tyrants. Well, since we joined the EU, we all but gave up our independence just like the EU skeptics used to say in the 90s but were ridiculed by everyone in the media. Finland is no longer for Finns. Our ancestors basically sacrificed their lives for nothing considering we've been independent for only 98½ years and a half of that under threat of losing our independence.
Anyway, I'm more worried about population replacement in the longer term (say 10-25-year span) than any negative impact of immigrants on our economy. We have people unironically named Jihad who are giddy about gardening and living a peaceful life, lel.
